Same for me, though it wasn't my car. A friend let me drive his '69 RR, 440 6-pack, numerous times back in the early 70s. That care was a monster - scary fast and powerful. Had the needle pegged and it kept going faster and faster. I'm guessing 140????

I know for sure my SS will do 130, with plenty of pedal left.

Car and Driver says the SS will do 174, the six- guns will do 154, with no mods other than having the governors impeached.

2013 ZR1 (dad's) with the following mods:
-ARH Long-tubes with high-flow cats
-LMR snout and pulley
-Dyno tune.

Was putting down 600 RWTQ and about 55X hp at that time. Since then, few more mods...

Back in '69 ,I had a '68 Dodge R/T.The car had a 0-150 mph speedo.I had just got out from work,2am closing up @ McDonalds,jumped on RT81N .I wound that speedo as far as it would go and then some.I'm sure that 440 was screaming,Don't remember what the R's were, had to be past red line with a 3.23 rear end.I think those cars only did about a 14-15 sec 1/4 mi. but the top end was stupid fun,emphasis on fun,but it was stupid,which nobody could tell that to a teenager then,& still can't. Years later in a safety driving course I found out what a bias belt tire looks like at 100mph as opposed to a radial tire.The Firestone F70x14 "wide oval" red striped would have only about an inch of tread on the pavement.I was lucky I didn't have a blow out.Since I've only done in the 130's with my Camaro,I seem to run out of real estate pretty quick though.

Mine won't take anybody's breath away... but I have been airborne at 139 MPH in a Merkur XR4Ti (an unexpected rise in the road), lived to tell about it: been clocked at 135 MPH by the CHP in my Cutlass (went to jail for that one); Maintained a steady 140 MPH in an Audi on the Autobahn while all of my passengers slept; and done 139 on a Ninja.... yes, of course I SHOULD have been wearing a helmet and pants, but, hey, I was young...

I've driven a few faster cars, but haven't run the needle up that high... so they don't count.

My buddies dads 68 Camaro drag car has chevy 582 big block putting out 1300 and sprays 350-700 shot of juice.

for top speed was in my 05 Corvette I hit 160 on the speedo and backed out. (closed course)

a 1969 el-camino with a huge blower sticking out of the hood.. was my dads, only drove it once.. i believe it had 800hp at the wheels. it was pretty much impossible to make the tires hook.

Although this car is governed at 118 (and been there) if it does over 140 as they say it can then this is the fastest car I have owned. As a teenager many moons ago I had a '71 Impala that had gears in it for speed but no get up and go I had it to around 100 but the out of balance wheels and the play in the steering wheel I didn't have the guts to bury the speedo and I know it would do it and then some. The way that car was geared I would have guessed it would have done 130+. Not much on speed but love the feel of HP. Been just over 100 on snow(snowmobile of course). Been to 110+ on a Kawasaki Concurs, again capable of doing close to 140 never had the guts to try.

My Camaro is the fastest car I ever drove, but the fastest I ever driven it was 80 mph (it has 5,300 miles on the odo). Fastest I ever drove was 140 in my Subaru Legacy GT Wagon. I drive slower with the Camaro than I did with the Subie. With the Subie I felt I had to prove it was fast (I know, immature), but with the Camaro, I KNOW it's fast and feel no need to prove it.

Slowest car I ever drove is my '85 Land Cruiser.
