Question Continuing with Sirius/XM..Should I?

I only ask because the majority of the threads I read on here have been horror stories. I kind of liked having everything functional in my car (espescially the travel package that shows the weather, gas staions, etc.), but if it's going to be a hassle I will pass. Any input is appreciated. Thanks!

I just renewed my subscription. I have had them for about a year with no problems. Don't think I can go without the Howard Stern show now. LOL

Only you can answer that question.
If the service is worth the cost to you, then it doesn't matter what others think.

I will tell you to just not go along with what they want to charge you though.
If you tell them that you just can't justify the cost for what you use, they will usually come back with a better price.

I got $79 for a year last year. It will be due again at the end of this month.
If I can't get close to that same price again, I'll drop it.

Yeah I was just talking about the whole cancellation deal. I probably should have mentioned that in the first post sorry about that. I see that people have a hard time leaving because they continued to get billed. I would imagine sometime I may get rid of the car OR I would just want to cancel. I just want to have all options open without hassle I guess. At $79 a year WOW! HAHA. That's a deal. Anyway, I'll think about it.

I have a free 12 months still going on my car but I had Sirius on my last car (G8GT) and when they renewed it back then it was always for $111 dollars for 6 months but then every time I'd call and tell them I didn't want it I was magically eligible again for the promo rate of $34/6months(or whatever the exact number is). Point being don't pay more than like $70/year for it.

I dumped mine after the trial period.....then the bastards billed me and almost made my bank account go into the red......called them and bitched them out and it took them a week to put the money back.....never again!! Not worth it, in my opinion.

That's exactly what I was reading on those other threads.

Anyone know if there's a different way of paying for the subsciption without using a credit card? Maybe like a money order or something? Just something they can't charge again.

Pre-paid mastercard or visa ?? I do that and it works. I just have to make sure theres enough money in the card and I dont want anything, I'll take the money out of the card.

They don't advertise it, but they also have a seasonal rate for those that park their cars for the winter. Every year they want me to renew at the full price, but a quick call and I negotiate it back down to $80ish a year.

@supasport if you're really paying $4 a month, please tell us how you got that rate. $4/month sounds like their online only rate.

Every spring when I pull the car out I put XM on the car and then turn it off in the fall before winter. By the time next spring rolls around I am getting letters saying they want me back and I can get XM Radio for $24 for 6 months.

RIGHT!!! Tell them you want 6 months for $25, with taxes it's just over $30. I do it every time. Then they will renew it in 6 months for $110, on your credit card, then call them up... BAM they give you a refund for the difference $80 and you have another 6 months. You can't get Howard Stern with this package, but he's only on a few days a week anyway. I LUVS Me Some "Classic Vinyl"..
