I'm really sorry to see your accident, Slim, but I am glad you're okay.
Simple. Use the throttle wisely. You will be fine. He violated a law of physic.

I put my car in the PTM mode 'Wet'. I'm still in the break-in period and don't really push it, but the 'wet' mode decreases throttle sensitivity, adjusts the suspension for wet conditions, and probably a few other things. I'm still not 100% on the PTM vs. Touring mode, so I may be incorrect in this setting.

Good thing you are ok. A car is just metal and plastic.

Wow that's a bad one. Its a good thing that no one was injured. Hopefully you will be able to replace it.

It's unfortunate that you had to use the most important feature of our cars. Our cars have a 5 star crash rating for a reason, to protect the most important thing inside of it and that's what it did. Sorry for the material loss but glad your ok, cars can be replaced but you can't.

Sorry for your loss brother. Glad you are ok.

As for all of the other questions about driving in the rain, I am from Florida, living in GA, and driven my ZL1 from Florida to Nebraska (in a snow storm) and back. Leaving the car in tour mode is plenty for driving in the rain. If you break a law of physics, it doesn't matter what mode you are in, you will slide or hydroplane. Just manage your throttle and do not be in a hurry.

Unfortunately, this happens with cold Goodyear hockey pucks and wet pavement even with the traction control/stability control turned on. It seems like the system doesn't intervene quick enough to avoid disaster. I'm glad you are o.k.!

Glad you are okay. Seeing these stories makes me cringe yet gives me confidence that if I do get in a wreck me and the kids should be alright.

Sorry to see that. As a fellow WA driver, I understand how treacherous these roads can be. We get a lot of rain, and when you combine the wet roads with the low temps, the stock Goodyears are near worthless.
