Absolutely agree. The plan, for us, is to split off Wednesday and rejoin the group Friday. Makes no sense for us to head for Baytown Wednesday if we want to go to Midland and Austin.
Oh heck yea! there are lotssss of places to eat, check out the the http://issuu.com/thescenemag/docs/13...423433/5978112 it covers everything in the bay area. they are all good , and that time of the year everythng will be hopping. There will be lots of cars, bikes, and boats and babes out and about. go for spots on the water, Kemah boardwalk has lots of places to eat and just people watch.

Galveston is only 23 miles from Clear Lake/Kemah. Which has the strand, the seawall, pleasure peir, moody gardens. just name a few.

Called Harrah's in New Orleans tonight to feel them out on some rooms. Karen and I have rewards cards from play with them. Everyone would be eligible for the "friends and family" rate which he quoted me as $99/night. Rack rate at this four star hotel is $319 on the weekend and $229 during the week. Coutesy of someone here at work the hotel apparently has an amazing buffet and is a 20 minute stumble or 5 minute cab ride from the heart of Bourbon Street. Harrahs has their own parking which with 15 minutes of play in the casino is free. Perhaps at these rates we can extend? Current schedule has us home on Friday but none of us will work until Monday so perhaps an extra day in New Orleans? Gotta fit an airboat ride thru' the swamps in here somewhere Although if I see a snake you will see a grown man walk on water or

This sounds awesome Dave, count us in for the stay at this hotel. The swamps are next to home for us (lol), so we'll enjoy the tour. Athough for me it's not the snakes its the spiders.

We are willing to spend 4 or 5 days here as this is the part of the trip we're looking forward to. Always wanted to go there.
