What have some of you done after the "big three"? L99

Got my Kooks 1 7/8 headers and Roto-Fab CAI installed the other day for $~200. While under the car, it appears the previous owner had the x pipe portion removed and replaced with straight pipe. I'm in love with the sound, especially when I get on her a little so I'm not sure I'm going to do any more to the exhaust. Gas mileage appears to have improved to around 14mpg and I still haven't had her tuned yet (I'm talking to you, HPTuners). The check engine light is on, as expected, so I have lost remote start capability which sucks bad.

As soon as HPTuners finds the time to ship my stuff it will be tuned by Matt@FSP. The question is, where to go from here? I'm thinking about a scoop, and then maybe some cosmetics? I feel like without spending multiple $k's that I'm stuck as far as HP gains go. I don't want to cam it, FI is too expensive currently, so I'm at a loss really. Suspension seems to be the next thing but I'm not sure. I'd cam it if it didn't cost nearly $3k. I have an L99 by the way. What have some of you done after the "big 3"? Thanks.

Are these just drop in or? It was my understanding that there was much more to a cam then just sliding out the old and sliding in the new which makes it a few grand?

Labor, tuning, etc. If you do an ls3 conversion it gets more expensive due to head removal and lifter swap. A vvt cam would be more budget friendly. Talk with rhino and he can steer you in the right direction.

If he cut out the resonator section of the L99 exhaust, he's done away with the factory crossover. You can pick up a few ponies by putting a X or H pipe back in that straight pipe section.

There's not much else you can do to get a LOT of HP, without sprinkling a good amount of $$ on it. A good tune, with tranny tune will do wonders for you. After that, suspension would be a great place to concentrate.

Have you considered a converter? It will make the car feel like you gained a ton of HP

Disconnecting the battery does the same thing and it's free.

converter, gears, tune, PTB, ported intake, scoop, CAI, headers, cats are all you can do before FI or Cam.

If you arent gonna race, then just be happy with the intake, headers, get a good sounding exhaust, a good tune, and start working on cosmetics.

I have to do cosmetic stuff to mine, cant leave the outside alone lol.

And, if you do want to race and dont want a CAM or FI, then do bolt ons, some suspension, and get some slicks to drag with, or a nice set of tires to road race with.

Thanks for the tips! My CEL went off....force of habit made me remote start it today and it fired right up. Obviously, I know it's going to come back and I'll still have it tuned out, just thought it was funny the Camaro gods answered my prayers on getting remote start back. I think I'm going to get a cat back and focus on cosmetics. Already ordered the Blue dome light LED and the Switchback turn signals from Diode Dynamics. I'll have to look into a converter install cost as well as whether or not the 3.91 gears do anything for a little L99 like mine.
