Mufflers and Drone

So I'm waiting to get my mufflers on my car and am wondering, will I get drone?

I had my G37 straight piped and wow was drone at times annoying. Wondering if it will be bad as well with magnaflow mufflers?

Keep in mind, my car is COMPLETELY STOCK aside from adding these mufflers.

Wow sorry, thought I put that up there.
They're magnaflow.

I purchase mrt v2.0 they had a crazy amount of drone. I added the x-pipe and put hush mats on the trunk and back seats and now it's just right. Expect drone if you are just going to put in new mufflers.

Well I mean either way with exhaust I'm expecting drone. But I'm wondering if it'll be crazy drone or just typical aftermarket exhaust drone.

I couldn't use my car and enjoy it with the amount of drone I was getting from the mrt. I don't know how the magnaflow is, but if it's like the mrt you will need some deadening.

With Magnaflow mufflers you should be good. They are a strait through design that doesn't reverberate back like some other mufflers. What Magnaflow mufflers did you go with? (part #)

Unsure on part number.

I was told they're round and 4" in diameter.

So it's on!! A lot quiter than I thought. Nice enough to not wake up neighbors, but loud enough to make sure people know you're coming. And wow do notice a difference in performance. Didn't realize how restrictive the stock mufflers are!

Just about any axle back will give you some drone, Magnaflows a little less than others. I had Flowmaster Super 44s put on a few weeks back and the drone is very prevalent at 2,000 to 3,500 RPM. After that it goes away. But I like the sound, very deep and throaty at low RPM with a nice aggressive "tuner" sound at high RPM. Sounds much better than an actual tuner though.

If you're going axle-back only, any of the recognized brands will sound similar. Flowmaster Super 44s are about $80 each from the auto parts store. I got mine from the muffler shop, $300 installed.

Nice! Gotta love the low deep tone of Magnaflow.

Yep! Exactly how jcamaro put it, its got that tunerish sound since of course its a v6, though its got the deep growl to it.

Magna's are a bit expensive. My buddy gave me a deal $240 for both mufflers and installation. Guess he had to kinda rebuild the back as well to make it work out.

Also thinkin about doing the K&N Typhoon intake to my car, anyone have any experience with that?
