My point is, the more the SS is run, the lower the numbers are getting...and considering the 2 cars, the difference isnt that huge..

The same holds true for the 2010 GT500's. Some magazine's have run a 12.3 in them, yet the number that is always used comparison purposes, more often than not, is the 12.8 number referenced in this article.

Thats fine, but even then, the SS's are now going into the 12.8's, stock. Compare that GOOD run to a GT500 GOOD run of 12.3, the difference isnt as big as it should be....

What's with this "as it should be"? .5 difference is pretty large on a track and a pretty poor argument. The GT500 performs. You can try and live in a world where it doesn't but that's not the world we live in.

I can't even believe someone would compare these two cars.

price and performance are way too dramatic.

End.

Is this really still going on? Why should the difference be a lot bigger? The SS is what, .4 tenths faster than the GT with 111 more hp. That's considered destroying the GT but it's just barely a win when the GT500, 114 more hp, beats the SS by more? I'd like to know how that works.

Really? Just exactly how big, in your opinion, should the difference be?

One engine has a SC the other does not...lets compare a 2010 Camaro Hennessey 570 against a GT500 2010.....that would be fair, price wise and engine wise.

again.. .way off topic. Your comparing a tuner car with a factory car..and price is "NOT FAIR" as the hennessey is tapping at 70g's.

wow. Some people shouldn't make comments, makes the camaro fan base look uneducated.

Agreed. You can't compare a factory car to a stock car. If you really wanted to do a comparison you could do it to a Corvette or the CTS-V.

As for the last comment, almost as uneducated as someone assuming that beating one car means they can beat them all.

QFT. I don't think many people do their research before buying a new car no matter how much it is and then they come on here and post like they actually know something about the car they didn't even purchase. I looked at about 4-5 different cars seriously when i was considering buying one. If people had any idea what the GT500 has to offer for $50k they wouldn't be posting half the stuff that is posted on here.

All Camaro SS owners, take your car to a Ford dealer that has a 2010 GT500 and say you are thinking about trading it in a GT500. See if you can get a test drive out of it, that's all, and then tell me how your Camaro feels overall vs. the GT500. There is no comparison, not even on the same level, not even close to the same level. Period. Drive one and I guarantee there wouldn't be posts like this lasting 10 pages with over 4500 views. Even when Camaro people bring in the Hennessey Camaro that costs over $70k and runs what 11.9? I will have my gt500 in the 10's consistently and it will probably cost me about $60k tops if that. Hell, I think my STOCK gt500 will run damn near 11.9 once I get her to the track. Remember the GT500 has the potential to be a reliable 10 second car. Hennessey didn't even change anything out on the drivetrain. You are foolish to think that will last a long time. $50k for the car $10k in mods and I will be able to outrun what? A NIssan GT-R, ZR1 vet? Oh yeah, this is going to be fun.

Should let these posts die.
