Question

Does the stock Differential from the manual transmission ZL1 with 3.73 Ratio fit in my L99?

I am thinking about to swap the hole diff. Thats cheaper than a gear swap in germany.

Here in Germany wants the garages about $ 2800 for an complete gear swap include all stuff needed like ring & pinion set, Seals, bushings, adjust and so on.

No. The pumpkin is much larger and not a direct swap. You would need a complete ZL1 rear-end conversion kit.

I have a whipple super charger and making around 600rwhp with a 2800 stall now. I really want the 3.91's but I'm afraid I would smoke right thru 1st gear. Is there a big difference between the 3.73 and 3.91 and what would you recommend for my daily driver/occasional track car?

Since you have an auto, you probably would spin all the way through 1st, especially pushing 600 rwhp. I would stick with 3.73s or less in that case.

I would definitely dial it back with that much power. The auto trans is already geared more aggressively than the manual.

It was an entire rear end swap (I have my old 7.6" IRS in a box in storage). If it had just been gears this upgrade would have been much easier.

Richmond. How well they are installed and what differential bushing you have installed has the biggest impact on how quiet gears are in these cars.

Stock bushings in my car. I was told the 3.91's are stronger than 4.11
