It made me curious to see if these dealers were just trying to get rid of their cars and collect insurance money instead, or it was just an honest mistake. I expected at least a thank you call, or a special offer, but nope - nothing. One of the dealer pretty much told me that they were insured anyways. No matter what, I couldn't just walk away knowing someone could steal these beautiful cars.
Good job, JacekPSUr1!

I had mine broken into twice, within 6 months of each. They never got in, but I have a convertible, and they slashed the top up. First time was in Florida and the second one was in Charlotte.

A friend of mine had his Honda S2000 soft top slashed in Charlotte. Both stock seats, a steering wheel, and the damaged roof were in the thousands! Insurance company pretty much totaled the car.

I have owned soft top cars off and on since 1979 and continuously since 2006 and have yet to have one broken into or top slashed.... Mine sit outside 24/7 too.

I'm not worried about it. Only a moron who doesn't know what they are doing would try to get in a Camaro by slashing the top. It's much easier and more effective to break a window just like they would on a coupe.

That's the easy part for an experienced tow operator, hook and pull it down the road, or flatbed with winch and its gone!!
worries me!

You people worry too much...you might as well just lock it away and never get it out. Its more likely to be involved in an accident than get stolen.
Just look at the threads on here, how many have been about their Camaro being in an accident compared to how many have been about their Camaro being stolen or broken into?

I don't worry so much about it be stolen vs. it being damaged by someone out in a parking lot at a restaurant or at the theater. I have a stock radio so it doesn't worry me that someone will see it and want it. But I have had cars broken in to a couple times in the past and it always occurred while I was out a night doing something and car was in a public place. People today can be nuts and do a lot of stupid things. I have noticed the way people disrespect other peoples property these days, and its only getting worse. I have seen people have their cars window broken, or the body deeply keyed, and dents kicked in their cars and it seems that it is done because someone thought it would funny or cool to show off in front of their friends. Its a messed up world out there.....
