Hey guys..I'm in need of some advice regarding the Taylor 409 race plug wires. Now I have jba shorty headers on my car...the headers came with a longer plug wire for the plug closest to the firewall on the drivers side. My question is, are the Taylor's wires going to be long enough for that plug.I've looked and searched but I can't find any answers. Thanks guys in advance for any thoughts.

Just ordered melling 10296 and Katech timing chain. Getting closer. Just need to get with Texas Speed and get my head gaskets/bolts, BTR cam kit, and stall converter. Can't wait.

Got a question, I am going with the LS3 conversion. Do I need to do anything with my timing gear or is the stock on fine with the Katech?

Two questions:

Was told today that having a muffler delete could decrease power due to a decrease in back-pressure, and that I may want to think about replacing it with a catback or something, is this true for an L99?

Also, if so: I'd still love the Atak cat-back, but the price is damn high. What difference would it make if I got the Atak axle-back and deleted the resonators with 3" pipe? Or an x-pipe, maybe?

The back pressure myth is a load of BS. It won't make a difference. Just get the axle back, cut the resonators, and tune it so you don't have AFM drone.

Thanks for the quick reply!

Would there be much sound difference between the cat-back and axle-back with resonators deleted? And resonator delete with xpipe or just straight?

I feel like I've asked this before.. So don't hate me please. haha

There will be a slightly different sound between the two because the stock exhaust is an H Pipe not an X. If you have an X welded in you probably won't be able to tell the difference. However if you want sound and performance, headers are the way to go.

Been looking at headers, but I'd like to get a Cold Air Intake installed with it to get them tuned together or whatnot. Also considering just getting the intake, installing, and waiting for the headers then tuning. I just have a visa gift card that expires in April that I'll need to spend on something at least. Trying to figure out what to do first.

You don't need a tune for most CAI's. It will specifically say tune needed for the CAI if it is needed. So you can get one now and wait to get the headers later when you get ready to do your tune.

Axis and I like the Halltech Yellowjacket.

The drag strip is like sniffing glue, it's cheap, it's a decent buzz, it doesn't last long and they are all the same.
Road racing is like China White Heroin, the buzz is stronger, the high lasts for hours, it's extremely addictive and they are all different.
I can't wait for my next
Track fix.

I'd talk to Matt@FSP and see if he can put an intake, header, tune package together for you.

Gotcha. He'll actually be in the same area as me in mid March, unfortunately I don't have the money for all those mods at once. It'd be something to look at more around my birthday though if I wanted to do all at once probably. I have enough for a bit at a time, really. haha

BTR sells all the gaskets and bolts and his prices are competitive and even cheaper half the time, as far as timing gear you'll need a 3 bolt 4x reluctor cam sprocket that BTR sells as well.

Any more questions let us know.
