auto.... I drive for UPS.....Shift all day long.. Its highly overated.Just put it in gear hands on the wheel. drive and feel the road. Shift with taptronic like the pros do. Hands free to hold that drink. or that female thigh!!

i spend most of my driving on the interstate...no traffic here

...so 6 one way half dozen the other in terms of shifting...so i got it for the rest of the time...when i just want to have fun.

I've never owned a manual, and I was pretty impressed with the auto clutch and the tapshift. Had I ordered an SS, I probably would have gone with the manual, if not just for the authentic sports car/muscle car vibe.

black/black/2ss/rs/sunroof/6m--49

I learned to drive stick on my father's International Scout. My first car was 1962 Chevrolet Bel Air I inherited from granny. That was auto. Next was a '79 Chevy Monza v6 with manual, Chevy Cavalier ?85 4cyl with manual, '89 Pontica Grand Am 4cyl auto, '94 Teal Green Z28-Auto, 2002 Light Pewter Z28-Auto. I was somewhat nervous about my purchase of manual, but now I love it. I have bluetooth, which does allow for easy hands free driving. We can debate whether someone should talk on phone at all, but would be terribly difficult with manual without bluetooth.

If I compare my manual 2010 SS to my auto 2002 Z28, the SS is by far much more fun to drive. After 1 1/2 months, I am sure I made the correct decision. I thought I would never get the shifts smooth, but it is possible. I will drive about 10,000 miles this year on my new SS(maybe a little more since I do volunteer for more errands because it is so fun to drive). Where I live, my trips to office and hospital are short. 1-3 mile trips. I shift a lot. I still grin every time I get into my car. By the way, I do have some problems with my knee, but fortunately it is the right. No affect on that gas pedal.
