![]() My name is Doug. I'm a Moderator here on Camaro5 and also happen to be........ ....a POLICE OFFICER! ![]() Ok. I just wanted to make sure I got this right. You live in Elizabeth, got a ticket for being on the phone while operating a motor vehicle on a public roadway, got off with a warning for not having a front license plate (which you claim you were "threatened for"), and now you want to call your police friend Rich (who sounds to be on the dept) to get you out of the ticket. Cool. Ok. ![]() Curious. What if Rich's supervisor knew that Rich was helping a friend out of a ticket he got because the friend (Victor) had broken the law which he admitted to on a forum ... for all to see? What if Rich knew you posted his name on the internet saying you were going to ask him to get you out of a ticket? ...and that he was already in fact looking into it? Do you think he'd appreciate that? Do you think he'd want to help you out after posting his name on a forum? What if the guy who wrote the ticket knew you were complaining about this on the internet where all could see? Do you think he'd want to help Rich? ...which would in turn, help you? Do you think he'd want to give you a break next time he sees you on the road? I can tell you now that if I were Rich, I'd wash my hands of this and forget you ever asked me (and would never want to help out this particular friend again). If I had already talked to the officer, I'd call him back and tell him to forget I ever asked and tell him to do what he needed to do. If I were his supervisor, I'd wait...and watch...to see what happens to see if I could catch Rich and the other guy in a lie (hope Rich doesn't get in trouble for this). I hope YOU didn't get Rich in trouble for this. If I were the officer, I'd see you in court with this screen shot of this thread. Then I'm sure I'd see you on the road sooner or later and voila...you'd be pulled over with another summons to appear in court. You see....there's some things you just don't want to post about on the internet. It's just not smart. I know you want to vent...but...you really need to think twice what you post about...names...cities...that you ask for favors, etc...etc etc etc... The internet is full of information and anyone can pretty much find out about anything. Now... would you like to keep this thread around?

What you need is the huge PBA shield for the windshield.. In. NJ it allows your to drive like a complete douchebag without getting pulled over.

From someone who has recieved numerous of tickets. Lol !! My wife would have said they are the law and they can be on their phones. I have a PBA as well, some cops will honor it, and some the moment they see me going for it they say I don't care don't show me it. Lol ! Rat bastards.😝 I agree with you but at the end of the day they are the law, and there is nothing we can do about it. So take care of the ticket and try and stay out of his way. GL with that. I'm guessing Police Benevolent Association?
![]() I think if you just contact your local PBA and give a donation, they'll give you a card or a little sticker to put on your car.

guess how many little kids he has seen smashed up under dashes because someone was on the phone. I seen a few and I was only in the fire dept for a year. One time we had one guy was in a hurry went to dial his phone as he was cresting a hill. hit a S10 blazer head on. no skid marks from either vehicle He admitted he was going 65 in a 55. We were cutting the lady ( who was pregnant and unconscious) out with the jaws then someone noticed her 5 yr old son up under the dash. He was in the front seat and slid under the seat belt. They hit so hard that the engine was ripped out of the blazer and on the other side of the road. The drive shaft went right through the differential. So when cops are a little piised about things like this remember hes seen a lot of shit happen because of what most think of as a little thing

As law enforcement myself, I feel like we are only getting one side of the story.
