I posted this earlier in the thread. I ran at the event last month just fine, didn't get kicked out for sound, and I was way above that.
And then there were cars waaay above my sound level too.

Test and tune events and private rentals do not have the same standards as the Street Legal drag events. The sound limit was imposed for the opening night after the track was closed for "noise".

The cars that were running for the test and tune were loud enough to make mine sound stock and there were no issues.

I went to their first Street Legal Drags....there were several plenty loud regular drag-cars there...no problems....the only snag I saw was a few "street legal" guys who opened their cut-outs and were told don't do it again or you're out of here....

Where did you find that rule about the 100db level? I can not find it anywhere. I have cutouts on my exhaust I would want to have open on my runs.

It's buried in the rules somewhere in the NHRA web-site....I would call or e-mail the Dragway....They're pretty good about actually responding....

....My guess is your cut-outs would be a no-go on Street Legal days, but ok for test and tune days....not sure....I would get in touch with them and they'll let you know....Good luck....

This link has the Street Legal Rules, and talks about the DB business.....

They don't want open headers or cut-outs open. They don't enforce the sound level, but will check to make sure everything is connected. I went on both days last time (street legal and test/tune the following day). Test and tune was CRAZY loud!

Don't worry about it and just head out. I have LTs and Borla Atak. It's pretty loud and I don't have issues.

is the test & tune limited to the 1/4 mile, or can you ''attempt'' to top out on the oval?

we might be going this weekend for the street legal drag, depends on how Saturday goes for us + waking up early & a 2 year old is like donating hours of sleep that will never be made up. haha

If you're wanting to go faster than what you'll trap at a 1/4m event, there is always No Fly Zone.

Test and tune is 1/4 mile with much less check in restrictions for $50. The next one isn't until April 4th. Don't forget, this weekend the street legal races fall on a Sunday, not Saturday.

April 4th sounds like a good time to head out to fontana. Any other camaro owners going?
