Replacing BA speakers/amp

I've decided to replace the speakers/amp and could use some input as to what speaker are decently priced but sound good (as well as fairly easy to install with the existing wiring).

As for amp from what I have seen from browsing the forums either the JL XD400/4 or the Rocksford fosgate R400-4D seem to be the recommended choices.

I don't plan on changing out the HU so am looking for a solution that will work well with the stock one.

Any input is greatly appreciated, thanks.

Contact Steve at ********.com and get a FARK so you don't have to cut or splice any wires.

I've been looking at their products and plan on getting some things from them including a FARK. I guess what I am most unsure of is what type of speakers to get. I am assuming they should not be component speakers though really I don't know.

I have this exact setup only running HD600. Only thing I would suggest I haven't been thrilled with the C2 6X9. Would suggest another 6.5 C5 for the back. Also heard some Hertz if you go the money are awesome.

I am running JL c2 -650 in my doors which sound fantastic and the C2 690 in the rears.

If I were to do it over, knowing what I know, I'd put another set of JL -c2 650 in the rear also.

My JL XD 400 /4 can over drive the c2-690 speakers

I just put in an Audison Bit Ten D signal processor and a set of Hertz HSK 165XL component speakers. Between them I have a Hertz HDP 4 running active crossover, Woofer and tweeter running off of it's own channel. I have an Alpine 500W mono amp powering a 12" type S off of the Audison sub channel. I only have the front speaker outputs of the stock head unit going into the Audison and the rear 6x9s are still stock off the head unit. I like it.

Coming off of the stock head unit I would recommend a DSP such as the Audison Bit Ten D or similar, a good set of comps a sub and amps with enough power for the speakers you select. It took me 8 months of research to finally make a purchase. There is alot of great stuff out there.

Any suggestions that aren't 400 or more per pair?

I've heard great things about the Polk DB6501's. Super cheap and great bang for the buck.

Great price on Amazon too: http://www.amazon.com/Polk-Audio-DB6.../dp/B000P0R6LQ

The polks are actually what I went with for both the front and back (db691's for the back). Installed them yesterday and so far I like them. Took me a little longer to do the install so make sure you have all day if you plan on doing it yourself.

I just installed Focal AS165s in the fronts. Great speakers! Used the factory speaker mount. The tweeter fits perfect (i took it out of the little housing it came with) just a little hot glue to hold it in place. I did nothing to the rears. $249 for the pair.

JL10TW3 in a sub thump driver side drop in. All being pushed with a JL XD1000/5. 1/2 and 3/4 bridged for the fronts.

They are only good with a low end amp. My alpine pDx 9 wad blowing set after set. Then I switched to Polk MM's and nothing but beautiful music. And they don't cost too much more than the DB's

I'm with you. I'm under-impressed with the c2-690.

I have the c2 650 in front and love them. I'd consider another set in rear
