I did my cloth seat stitching. It is time consuming, I went over it twice letting it dry before the second time.

You would be correct. You should use fabric store markers.

Did this yesterday, love it.

A inprogress shot to show the difference.

I went with black, thought about red, I was a little afraid it would turn out pink. Thanks to everyone here for the idea/advice.

Looks like you're doing a good job but if you're just matching the color, rather than contrasting, it kinda seems pointless.

Thanks. I prefer the black on black look. I just finished it all up today, it makes a huge difference, it came out great.

What can I do?

That's why I didn't go with red. I'm not sure how to fix since you used paint pens. Try another pass over the stitching?

You need to go to a fabric store and find the original shade. They usually have a sheet to test the color. If they don't, ask for one. In my case, I got ink that looked magenta. I went back and found a fabric marker (dye) that had a higher color number. That code evidently indicated the color, and sure enough the new one was darker red. It went right over the old color without any problem. Here is the before-after comparison.

+1 on the fabric dye markers. I tried the paint in a small part and almost crapped myself trying to get it off before it set.
The dye marker worked WAY better!

Picked up a blue one the other day. Took it and tested it. A lot of dye comes out but looks like wiping as you paint it on is best. Going to do this over the weekend. Pics to follow.

Just use it as a marker then wipe off the extra of the leather?
