I am having the same issue with a crack in my dash. I am very disappointed to be having this issue with a car only a few years old. I called my dealer and I am taking it in on Wednesday. My car is not under warranty anymore so I am hoping they can help me out without it costing a ton. It looks like some people were able to get it replaced without a cost. Does anyone know should I be contacting GM directly or will my dealer take care of it to see if it can be replaced free of charge?

I was called today and told I have to pay 25% of the cost to fix the dash per GM. Thats $232.xx, which is more than I really would think I should have to pay for a car thats only a few years old. But, it is still cheaper than the full price so it is what it is.

I apologize greatly for the cracked dashboard with your Camaro and I certainly understand any displeasure caused by it. You are more than welcome to contact us privately for additional assistance with investigating these matters. While we're unable to guarantee anything, I'd be more than willing to exhaust my options in an effort to assist.

If it were me I would live with the crack. To much stuff to mess up. Not like they replace dash bds every day. Only if it got worse would I replace it. Looks like just the Airbag crease cut a little too deep.

I have this on mine also. Unless they changed the dashboard design, won't it happen again, even if it's replaced?

I just heard back from GM. They offered to pay for half the cost of replacing the dashboard. Since my car is WAY out of warranty, I thought it was a pretty good offer. I decided to not have the dashboard replaced since it's not that big of a deal for me, but I wanted to give credit to GM for stepping up. Their customer service was very responsive, and, in my opinion, very generous.

I just got done washing the car. Cleaning the inside and I saw 2 Cracks on the pass side.I read how some guy got new dashboard put in but my car is a early 10 with 52k. What are the chances are that the dealer will fix it? Also saw that some guys would just live with it but want about when it's time to trade it in?

It's probably around the area where the air bags are. I'm sure if you talk to the dealer he might get you a new dash. It's up to you whether you want to report it or not.

Yea it's where the Air bag is. Im just want a new dashboard . I would go crazy if I just left it alone.

Dropped the car off at the dealer yesterday. From what I heard so far it sounds like they will replace the dash. But still waiting for the call to confirm that.
