Has anyone ever fitted a lightweight flywheel?
Hello,
Well, the title pretty much says it all. I don't know if this topic has been discussed before, as I can't seem to get to grips with the search function here. But would be interested to know if anyone has ever fitted a lightweight flywheel, and what the experiences with it were like. |

These cars are a little heavy for that IMO. The extra mass helps get these pigs moving.

I installed a dual disk clutch/flywheel combo that weighed about 18 lbs less than the stock items. There is a learning curve of feathering the clutch and applying a little more throttle, but now I don't think about it any more, it seems normal.

Thanks for the replies.
I would also be interested whether it made a noticeable or substantial improvement in acceleration. If it is the only mod I am planning in the entire drivetrain, does it require any sort of engine recalibration? Thanks again. |
