I'm all for voicing opinions, speculation, guessing, etc., so long as somebody is not trying to masquerade an opinion as fact. But some who post here have gone through their life to date spitting "I think . . . I believe . . . " at people, and have always found a willing tool to vacuum up their words. It comes as a shock to some that pesky things, such as "facts" are often necessary to carry on a useful conversation. This is especially true when you are advising someone on engineering and other technical matters. |

If you think it's bad now you guys should have been here during the "will there be a Z/28, and what should the content be" threads. Those that fought for it got beat on regularly for years. SS, 1LE and ZL1 owners told us we were foolish (or worse) to believe. They said there will never be a 5Gen with a factory 427. It was incredible how ridiculous the comments were from fellow Camaro owners. Self-justification is blinding.
Oh no one ever came back and said, yeah you guys were right...no one.

the only thing the 6 OG's were off by was the weight, oh and the price . I only ask for forgiveness I think ZFat and MBrinda would have been great at fending off the trolls during that time, especially would have loved to have witnessed the discussion between Zfat and ThePill before he got booted.

Building a fast track car that runs all day, with a track tuned TC and ABS is hard. There are a sh*tload of details to get right. Most folks posting here have obviously never been on a track in their life or they would not post the nonsense that they do. It'll get better here after the press embargo comes off from the Barber event and then better still after deliveries when the track pictures, videos and stories come out. And the GT3 on-track "kill" stories! Too bad Porsche has been forced to call-back and quarantine all the new 991 GT3's for a variety of maladies, I would have looked forward to a time-trials pitting one against the Z/28. David/Goliath match.

The coming weeks and months will be very exciting and interesting as the new Z/28 history unfolds.

I can easily imagine 3 seconds gained on that course by the Trofeos alone. They are a 50 treadwear rating and the the rubber is made in the same single vat as Pirelli's race slicks (I know someone in their Motorsport Division).
So that makes me think that GM is sandbagging, in a good way and rightly so at this point, the true potential of this car. The weight loss could be good for .5 second, deeper braking 1-2 seconds, and the aero for another second. This new Z/28 should easily run with GT3RS's and base Corvettes all day long. Said by someone?? So if these tires were on the ZL1 would it get 3 sec?
