Borla Atak or Solo Performance Axle Back - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

I own a 2013 2SS L99 Camaro and I've been looking for an exhaust for a while, I've narrowed my search down to either the Solo Performance with J-Pipes or the Borla Atak mufflers. I'm limited on funds and am not really to interested in performance, the car is already fast enough for me, but I want it to sound like the muscle car it is, so I've decided on an axle back system. I've watched a lot of youtube videos over the last few weeks and I like the sound of the Borla and the Solo systems. My thought was if I went with the Borla axle back I would remove the resonator and install a Summit Racing x-pipe and if I went with the Solo system I'd leave the resonator on, I want it to be loud but not obnoxious, I don't want to be evicted by my neighbors.

I like the idea of the Solo system where I can tune the sound through the J-pipes, no drone at higher speeds and the fact that it's $300 cheaper than the Borla with the Summit X-Pipe. Also, if I do go with the Solo system I would have the funds for a Range AFM disabler too!

I am looking for opinions or testimonials from owners of either system before I make a final decision. What are your thoughts and comments on either?

this is my Borla Atak with resonator delete, doug thorley short tubes, CAI. AFM or DoD disabled. Zero drone. 8cyls all time:

assuming you have a L99, the SOLO will kill what ever drone you might get. that is the one I would pick!

+1 also will sound like a beast when you add headers down the line

I have the Solo J-Pipe axle backs on my otherwise stock L99 SS.
Love the deep rumble plus no drone at any RPM.

No drone on L99 w/ borla atak only as long as AFM doesn't kick in... Use paddles to avoid that on hwy or tune it out completely.
