Really??

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2010-...=p4506.c0.m245

I said 70k in general. Sales taxes, delivery etc... might as well be 70k.

So for 63k I get 562 hp? or for 50k get 540 with factory warranty?? 13k more for 22 hp. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Again, tuner vs factory..

Everyone is arguing... oh just wait..buy my camaro and spend x and beat any gt500.. blah blah blah. Again, not a factory to factory comparision. Again..shouldn't be one. The gt500 is in a different class end of story.

Bang for the buck will always argue.. I mean right now you can walk onto a ford dealer an pick up an 2009 mustang gt brand new for about 23k.... let me know what 7-10 k would do to a 33k camaro. (oh wait..go read a thread I started in the vs section.. my little mustang with less than 1000 dollars in mods can beat a stock ss auto!! lol.)

End of the day...

This comparision is just to make people argue.

Both are great cars..but people that are trying to argue the camaro is better in performance is seriously stretching. Once you start adding mods and money the game is over..because nobody can compare straight up. Both are different types of cars to begin with people!!!!!!

Anyways..just bored and thought I would read some more of this humor from camaro fanboy's replies. Keep them coming!!!

Big burnouts on street tires = greasy tires, not sticky ones.
Tires will be the bane on this car. Not big enough stock IMHO. Will burn those things up in no time. I'm already doing it lol. I haven't looked at how much one tire is but I'm sure it will probably be $300-$500.

First you argue about the price is not fair using the Hennessey $70k car with all exterior modifications as well, not a good comparison!! I will tell you my LPE Camaro with 570hp is less than $50k out the door. Agreed that the SS stock is not a comparison to the GT500 stock. I think people are just trying to argue that the GT500 is supercharged and the SS is not. So we put a S/C on it to be fair. Then the arguement is not forged internals for the SS. Then the arguement is tires for the GT500. We can go on all day like this. Then we go back to, "Well I can get an 09 GT for 23K and make it faster". Sounds great, go for it. I can buy an 02 SS for less than you can buy an 09 for and make it faster. And on, and on, and on.... In the end they are both great cars and I love to see both of them on the street!!!

Not very fair. I think it would be fair to test the SS vs. the GT with some of Ford's performance parts.

I think a few others have called you out on your hennessey pricing. Are you saying that ebay price is incorrect?

Either way, like I've said, comparing a tuner car to a factory car is not a good comparision. As both cars have different type of origins and prices. Just as people could argue purchasing a cheaper mustang gt and spending 7-10k to beat a 33k camaro. Again your argument towards this whole thing makes no sense as it's based on adding performance modifications to a car.

That's my entire point.

Im pretty sure gt500 originates from a mustang like the LPE or hennessey car would from a camaro. As far as pricing I think 40k is 40k no matter which way you look at it.

Ford does not turn a Mustang into a Shelby GT500 like the Hennessey. It is a different car like the Z06. It is made by Ford. Not a tuner car.

I didn't know LPE or Hennessey make camaros. I'm pretty sure ford makes mustangs and GM makes camaros.

As far as pricing goes..well if your only looking at the final price tag, go get an 2002 Camaro and spend 30k in mods.

I think what we can take away from 12 pages of BS is that the 2010 GT500 is likely the best muscle car of all time, performance wise. The new Camaro is on the short list as well but cant touch the performance of the GT500. However, it is much more affordable and was never built to challenge the GT500. It was built to trump the GT, which, it did. If you want a camaro to go like the GT500 there are ways to do that, but id avoid comparing tuner cars to stock cars....

Zeus pretty much summed it up.

A stock GT 05~09 and even the new 2010GT to some degree will need the aftermarket to keep up with a stock 2010 Camaro.

A 2010 Camaro will need the aftermarket to keep up with a stock GT500 07~2010.

And thus it continues. We will not see a great comparison until the new 5.0's are out. Until then the above holds true.
