I pretty much like you. 32,000 miles in 4 1/2 years on my '10 SS with trips to So Florida, Camaro5fest1 in Ga,
Homecoming in Canada, Fest3 in Indy plus sunny days only here in Ct. Since these cars depreciate at about
$4,000.00 a year, I'm not saving mine for anyone.

Its possible to grow tired of things through either use or neglect. In either case you may eventually want to get rid of it for over or under utilization.

These are mass produced cars that get better every year. Enjoy using it. They'll build more.

Use kbb.com. You'll see that 6,600 or 48,000 miles doesn't change the value by much.

It is just a car, drive the shit out of it. The moment you drove off the lot, it depreciated.

Got mine in May 2012 and have put over 33XXX miles on it. And I have been deployed for the last six months. It is also my DD and wouldn't mind having another car as my DD as it is 50 miles one way to work. But then I would probably live closer to work because I wouldn't enjoy the ride as much.

STOP WATCH THE AUTO AUCTION SHOWS!!! Yours is not the '69 Camaro with matching numbers and 23,000 original miles that is selling for $98,000. It never will be! There are so many Camaros being made today, in Forty years from now yours will still be one of THOUSANDS. Drive it Today, It's not an I.R.A.... I Rhymed...LOL

Haha well said! I agree, there's no point in buying them and not driving the shit out of it. Only a collector is crazy enough to afford and want to buy a fancy car, then never drive it. An extra 10,000km on it isn't going to effect the bottom line that much. Enjoy it while you can, life is short.

My 2014 is only 4 months old and I have 4300 miles on her. Drive the car! You aren't paying per month to let it just sit there!

Everyone says to just drive the car and that there will be more in the future. But what if the camaros look really ugly in the future? Wouldn't you want to keep your current camaro for as long as possible?

You might want to look up the production numbers for the 69 or any of the 1st gen cars... they were building a lot more per year then than they are now.

1969 - over 243000 Camaros built
2012 - 90,310 Camaros built

Great car's become collectable not because of low production numbers, but because they were great cars. The 5th gen will be no different.

OP

I fully understand where your comming from. I can be fairly OCD about cars as most here. That said life is about the experience and memories you create. I have shed some of my OCD and drive every chance I get. The main question I ask myself is...when I'm old will I regret all of the drives and places that I have been, or cherish my low mileage Camaro. Life is supposed to be fun so I choose to use the car when possible. Choose your route and burn some gas.

great story
