Back in 2009 (October) when dealerships were still asking for bumps on the 2010's my Sticker was $31660, I paid $27,2xx (before trade) mine is a 2LT/RS, A6, Polised wheels, Ebony Leather, Sunroof, ect.. A loaded 2LT/RS so I ended up getting just over $4k off on the car. This should give you an idea what you can get if you work for it.

Go to a online site such as Edmunds or Kelly Blue Book and spec out the car exactly as you would like it. They will give you a very good idea of what that vehicle is selling for in you area and show any incentives that may be available. It is a good start.

I bought my 2LT RS a year ago. In round numbers, sticker was $34,700, I successfully offered $31,500. On top of that I used the $1000 GM Private offer, so my price ended up at $30,500 plus taxes and tags. I did have to walk out of the dealer once, but they called me to come back in.
At the time I used some online resources like truecar.com and carwoo.com. They were both useful tools when figuring what a fair price was. Unfortunately, carwoo has shut down, but their website now suggests truecar.com. I will say that I am very happy with the 2LT RS. Good luck!! |

These prices seem like a little more than I was wanting to pay to be honest. I may try to buy used maybe a 13 LT RS if I can find it.

Keep in mind, we're coming up on the end of the 1st quarter of the year. This might be a good time to negotiate an excellent deal as dealers need to meet monthly and quarterly sales quotas.
I understand Rockmont Chevrolet in MD is pretty good. Koons Chevrolet in N. VA is also very good (that's from whom I purchased mine). However, different people will have different experiences. Some good at a dealer and others not so good. Study up and strike while the iron is hot. Knowing the numbers is your best bet. Also, make sure and line your financing up with your bank or credit union BEFORE you go to the dealer. That way, when you're in the finance office, you can listen to their offers in addition to KNOWING what your bank will do for you. USAA membership will most often get you $750 off. Military discount if you're in the service or credit union discount may also be options. However, DON'T leap at the 0% financing offer without knowing what other types of cash back and dealer incentives in additon to the ones mentioned above are available. Financing at 0% often doesn't allow for any other offers to be applied which often means you'll be paying full price for the vehicle which means you'll be paying more than applying any and all discounts and financing at your bank's (hopefully) lower rate over the same period of time. At least you have the price list to work with. Do your homework and get a great deal.

Well the bad news is I could not afford a brand new 2LT RS . The good news though is could a afford a beautiful almost fully loaded 2012 2LT RS with 25k miles in good condition so I feel good. It really lets me know that used is the way to go because the 1LT alone was to much and didn't have a lot of the features the 12 had .
