NASA has 3 new design concepts for the next astronaut space suit, and is asking the public to vote on which will be produced and used (at this point for Earth based testing only, not actual usage in space).

Meh, the tech one seems too childish. Society one is the future.

But then again they all still look pretty stupid. What's wrong with a black suit. Why can't we be realistic here. Black would be best unless there is some technical reason for it needing to be white.

Wouldn't black blend too much in space like if someone accidently drifted away it would be hard to see them I would think but all black would look bad ass.

Yes, but a black suit with a body strobe (flashing strobe light)would catch my attention faster than another white dot in space. If they drift, they activate their strobe, I should easily find them. At least, in theory.

It would still have the luminescence that these suits have as well.

No kid is going to look at those suits and say, "OMGWTFBBQ I WANT TO BE AN ASTRONAUT!" The goal is to get people to enjoy the idea of space travel again, not make it less appealing.
