1le vs. SS Rims

Hey guys,

New here and have a question that I just can't quite figure out and my dealership is no help. I've used the search and haven't found an exact answer to my question so I'll put it here and see if anyone can/will help.

I have a 2014 1SS 1le and I'd like to swap out the wheels/tires for winters. I saw someone mention that you could just swap the 1le rims for SS rims for added tire selection, but my dealership told me that wouldn't work because of the Brembos.

Now, can anyone shed some light on this?

Many many thanks guys. Love the forum thus far

The 1LE has the same brembos as the SS, they are just painted red. You can put SS rims on a 1LE. Heck, you can put SS rims on a ZL1. I use a set of polished SS rims for my winter tires.

Another win for the retards at the dealerships and their continuous spread of misinformation.

I just got a 2014 1LE and my front wheels are 10" and my rear wheels are 11" with the 285's all the way around and they are stretched on the 11". I thought the 1LE had 10" front and rear and the 11" rear was only on the ZL1. I saw the 2013 was like that but thought the 2014 changed to 10" front and rear. Any info appreciated

My '14 1LE has 10" front and 11" rear wheels - that's what they are supposed to be. The 285s are all around and it helps reduce understeer.

Ok thanks, I'm grabing at straws because I'm having some vibration issues and its been back 4 times in 2 months and not getting anything from the dealership except a runaround and scratched up wheels. They have changed out all the tires and I've even taken it to an outside shop but still from 58mph up I've got vibration in the steering wheel to the point of feeling it in my hand after 20 minutes of interstate driving like I've been running a weedeater, and I thought I had seen a post somewhere that said they were all 10".

The dealers tire changer is an idiot who scratched up the inside of my wheels pretty good while removing weights and mounting and dismounting and, 2. The balance they did at the Goodyear store removed about 80% of the vibration. After reading the different post's and articles about the Z28 having tire slippage on their wheels while hard braking and having vibration I tried their test and marked my vavle stem location with a white marker on my each of my tires. I took off the traction control this morning and did a hard launch and smoke them thru first and second and my rear tires spun about an inch on my wheels.

The Stig, what size (front and rear) polished SS rims are you using as your winter set? Would you mind also posting the tire sizes that you're using with these rims. Thanks, Pete
