I contacted Chevrolet customer assistance center via the real-time chat tool. Got word my ZL1 was loaded on a train today. It's still in Ohawa, but should be leaving soon. Crossing fingers all goes well.

I mentioned this in the 3/24 thread but I asked my salesman to send me the final details of our transaction for tomorrow so that there wouldn't be any surprises. He sent me a copy of their "buyers order" which shows all the numbers of our deal with the final OTD difference. There are no surprises. They kept to their original offer even though there was a $300 price increase a few days later. They have accepted the stacking of my three GM incentives totaling $2000. They charged me modest doc and title fees of $79 and $39 respectively. Taxes are based on new car price less trade-in, a savings of several hundred dollars. All-in-all, I'm very pleased with my deal. It's just the first time I've bought a car without getting a car. Praying for no major issues between there and here.

Just used the chat tool myself - car is in Fort Erie, Ontario, Canada - so made it out of Oshawa and around the lake (near Buffalo).

I called them and they just confirmed that it's sitting waiting for a rail car. I asked if the shipping department would shut down since the line is going down for two weeks and she said, "that is a possibility". So, I guess my 11 day old car will now sit in a lot rusting in the Ontario winter for another 2-3 weeks [at least].

LOL, it's going to snow here tomorrow.

Can't imagine they'd let them sit. End of quarter, finished goods, wouldn't make sense. Keep checking.

So customer service told me today that they "MIGHT" ship cars out while on shutdown. Did anyone catch that key word! So right after my little chat session, Chevrolet decided to make me do a review on my experience with chat?

I did find out they continue shipping , the Camaro plant is one of three plants there. They produce the Equinox, and the police impalas also. Those other two plants are not shut down during those two weeks. The logistic side works 24hrs filling rail cars and rubber tire transports. I did get a temp ETA, May 1-7th. So I'm going to be patient and to get my fill I'm going to go down and test drive a new camaro every week till mine gets here!

Thanks for that Oregon1LE. I "bought" my car today, which of course has not been delivered. I will say, my salesman has been great, giving me "Becky level" information on a daily basis. He sort of confirmed what you say in a little different way. First he says there was "movement" with the detail on my car. Apparently, they are so backed up with cars overdue to ship that they had to use an overflow lot to park them and my car was moved to this secondary lot. He says the cars on the overflow lot will be first to be shipped as rail cars come available and assures me it will be shipped soon, although my status hasn't changed.

For those of you wanting to close your deal in M!arch to secure your incentives, this is exactly what I just did this morning. I had zero issues, it was very smooth. I stacked three GM incentives no problem and feel like I netted a very strong deal. I am very pleased with my dealer and the entire transaction, I just need a car to go with it.

I was just playin with the customer service chat line agian this morning!!, the last robot just said exactly what you said, my car has been moved to a temp lot , givin status 4000 awaiting shipping. But the robot would not even budge on giving me ETA, just said it should be soon. Whatever , I see one of the local lots has a new SS manual in...........maybe I'll go take my frustrations out!
