My recommendations are in the sticky at the top of this forum.

Here are your options listed from cheap to not so cheap. Harbor Freight DA. If you only do your own car and are on a tight budget it will do the job. Next I will lump the Porter Cable , Meguiars v2 and Griots in to the same group. Price is close and everyone has them on sale often. Of that group the Griots has the most power and a lifetime warranty. Next, I would look at the Flex 3401 forced rotation. German quality and engineering. Quite a bit more expensive then the previously mentioned da's but good tools aren't cheap. Now if you want the best da regardless of price IMO the Rupes line is got to be the next choice. Super smooth and fast cutting due to longer stroke but also the most expensive on the list. I have left out the Cyclo due to the fact it's the only machine I haven't personally used or owned. The Matabo machines are also not listed.

Griot's would be the one I would take first if I had to start over again. Great machine to do everything you need it too as well as to learn how to polish.

I've used the Flex 3401 and the Harbor Freight DA.

I've owned the PC, currently own the Griot's 6 inch and Griot's 3 inch, as well as the Rupes 21.

I still say start with the Griot's, and then when you can afford it and you have gotten better, add in a Rupes to your arsenal.

I like the way you think! Don't forget, Autopia-CarCare price matches and it would be my pleasure to get you going on your way to CamaroShinyBliss

FLEX's are map-priced... Not much I can do on the price of the machine, but if you give me a call tomorrow - 877.855.3125 ext 3202 - and let me know who you are on the forum, I am sure I can sweeten the deal

So basically $350. The best one can hope for is "freebies"? Gotcha, I'll try and call tomorrow. Going to be busy as hell the next few days. Thanks...
