Mid April i put in the Order just got the baby on 29th. put 450kms on it in 3 days.

Anyways a couple times now when the car is idling after start up the fan seems to kick into overdrive, and not the good sounding kind almost a squeel then after i start to backup it goes away, i also have my ac cranked.

thoughts?

Edit: so maybe its #3 then.

Even my girlfriend rolled her eyes at this one and said it is the air conditioner compressor kicking on.

does it only do it with the A/c on? Possibly the ac compressor making noise? Is the squeel constant noise or just when the fan kicks on or into a higher phase?

No offense but this reminds me of a funny time when I worked at a local parts store (not in the greatest neighbor hood) and one of the locals calls and I do my shpeel on the phone "Thank you for calling blah blah auto parts..." I get cut off and he goes "Eh! Listen to dis (holds phone to his running vehicle's engine) whachoo think dat is?"

Hum inspect the fans. If it still sounds wrong let the techs check it out.

There are 2 fans an Aux and a main. The AC will turn on one of them. The Aux normally is on the pass side and it helps cool the AT tranny cooler if present.

They should be somewhat loud. Louder than the engine probably at idle,

the car has an electric fan, thats how it works

it cuts on and off due to coolant temperature the reason it doesn't come on when you start it is because it is letting the car warm up to operating temp.and when your sitting at idle the car will get hot rather quickly because air isn't flowing through the radiator naturally. hence the fan and why its there

and having a/c on has nothing to do with it, unless your hearing the compressor

older cars that have a mechanical fan does this buy having a temp sensitive clutch on it. if you pop a hood on a car that has one when its cold out side you can see the fan spinning rather slowly compared to days when its hot out side

to check if it is the compressor making a weird noise you could look at it and and see the face on the pulley spinning when its on and it won't be when its off(it will kick on and off when you have the a/c button on) it will also make a noticeable click when it kicks on

so that would be the easiest way of checking if that is faulty

Hopefully the attachment works on here. But I think I will keep her. The attachment is a pic of her and her 2000 Trans Am. It has 405RWHP on a mustang dyno and it is loud as hell.
