Who cares? the original owner has not met his obligations for what ever reasons.
The bank owns it now and it will roll through the auction. Mr Repo man has a tough enough job without everyone throwing him under the bus. Moral of the story: pay your bills.

LOL.. yea, OK! Life happens and so things can change in ppl lives. The repo Guy shouldn't be in the business if his job is so tough that he has to. risk losing his job! Just because he is ignorant!

I would want the bank to know how Mr repo ass is treating there cars. I doubt he would be in business very long once word got out about this guy's ethics.

The repo man's job is not to ruin a car that the bank now owns, and it's not to accelerate wear on the vehicle. His job is to secure the vehicle for the bank. Bottom line here is, the vehicle is not his. This is not any different at all from a tech at a GM shop taking a customer car and doing burnouts in the parking lot, except that you forgive the repo man for his actions because you sympathize with him- even though you never met this man in your life. Getting thrown under the bus means you're getting a raw deal. There's no injustice here. This guy did the thing that would be reported. He did it, he decided to do it and he knows he shouldn't. That's called "being held responsible for your actions". F that guy. I'm held accountable for my behavior, why isn't he held accountable for his exactly? A "tough job"? Well, sounds like that tough job should be done by a pro, not some cowboy punkass, to me. Nobody gets a free pass to damage property that they don't own, in my book. Not you, not me, not this jerk repo man. The repo man just made his tough job harder, not anybody else.

Keep in mind in some states the original lien holder is responsible for the difference between what the original loan was and what the car brings at auction. If this repo guy is decreasing the value of the car by burning the tires or clutch up and it causes the car to be less valuable at auction he is costing the original lien holder money.
There is also a chance the guy could get the car back. He has a set amount of time to make a deal with the bank or pay the back payments. If this happens it would be a mess trying to hold the repo guy accountable unless he has been reported for it. Also please keep in mind that banks do actually make mistakes, I know this from experience. I had a S-Blazer that the bank kept calling saying I had not made payments (6 months worth) and they were going to repo it. I had every canceled check showing I had made them however they wanted me to prove it. I told them to come get it and I will prove it in court. They sent a repo guy to my house to get the blazer. I was very noise to him and told him to take it and explained what was happening and went as far as to show him the canceled checks that I had printed off by banks website. He ended up not taking the blazer after me telling him to PLEASE take it so I can see the bank in court. Never heard another thing from the bank and no report for late payments on credit, i was disappointed I was all ready for my day in court. lol |

![]() Ok if thats your point then a lein holder on a car should keep the miles down and never race it because they don't really own it until the last payment is made. So you have never beat on a rental car? The guy may never get to drive one again he was just blowing off a little steam. Was it right, not really was it unprofessional...yes. Should he be thrown under the bus? well if someone had a video sure. But on word of mouth not a chance, thats like the old "I am telling mom"

If ifs and buts were candy and nuts...this thread got full of speculation fast.
I guess it's the libertarian streak in me that sees all these people wanting to stick their noses in someone else's affairs when they still have problems of their own they won't prioritize as a sad state of affairs. "Let's rat the guy out to the bank"....lame. On the top 10 list of problems to solve, sticking my nose in this one would be 4,375th at best. Would you like it if someone saw you do something on your job that's nobody else's business and rat you out to your employer behind your back? Oh...but that would be different somehow. Anyone try talking to the guy first? It seems as if some just want to jam a stick in the fire and try to mess up some guy's career without all the facts. If he's actually doing these things all the time, it WILL catch up to him. One act of "ratting out" that I could support is alerting the proper authorities of unsafe public displays of power that jeopardize public safety if you truly are concerned about things that could affect you.
