Mods and Warranty
A few days ago I posted a question about the first mod I should do on my 2010 Camaro 2SS/RS, but I have decided to have a package installed by a local shop that includes a cold air intake, LT headers, axle back exhaust, stainless steel 3 inch x pipe and a tune that is supposed to bring my hp up to 475bhp. The only thing holding me back is the fact that this would void my warranty. My question is would these mods really increase the likelihood of something going to wrong with my power train that would require an expensive fix?

You pay to play. Bolt ons with a tune for your headers isnt a big deal. You shouldn't have any mechanical issues with those mods.

I wanna know who quoted you that 475hp #
Why the X pipe? What warranty do you have left on a 2010 anyway? 475bhp, probably at the flywheel, but I have a less restrictive system than you're talking about (no tune though because I want my warranty and the car runs great without one [i don't understand why people insist LTs need a tune]) and make 422-428 rear wheel hp depending on the humidity. I'm just saying you're not gonna see that # with those mods.

In regards to the 475hp they are referring to hp at the flywheel

As long as you use quality part that are installed correctly and the car is tuned by an experienced professional, there is no reason that there will be an increased likelihood of problems or a loss of reliability. You run into issues when you cut corners or get greedy with the tuning.

Im not familiar with the laws and regulations in Texas, but here in VA if you throw a check engine light you will NOT pass inspection. After my LT's I got the CEL so I decided to tune it out.
If not for the CEL I probably would have gone without the tune.
