Great numbers.... my VIN is in the 22000's and car is still on hold.

Getting fed up with it, gave dealer 2 weeks or they can stick it.

Who wants a sports car in winter.... ordered Feb, apparantely part of the V8 manual tranny problem that no one is saying anything about, that GM keeps saying all cars are off of hold, yet its still there week after week and everyone is clueless.... all the woman on the GM line can say is that "I drive past the holding facility every day on my way to work, they're so beautifull, its like a rainbow of colors"....

Thanks... youre looking for rainbows... how bout where is my freaking car!!!!!!

If I waited, my trade in value of what i had would of dropped by $1,000 or more anyways. I wish I could of afforded a V8, but sometimes you just have to make the smart choice. By the time some of you get your cars, it won't be such a hot thing and some other company like Ford mught come out with a faster mustang or something. A dealer nearby has 5 Camaro's for sale today. You can get them close to MSRP.
I ordered July 1st TPW 8/17 expected delvery end of August. Im not waiting till next year for the car.

By October 2010 there are some Chevrolet dealers that won't be going foward with the NEW GM. Some of these dealers may not be making it public because they are trying to keep their dealerships. If your dealer has been given a wind-down letter they can't order any new Chevrolets. You may want to ask if they are included in that group. Has anyone ran in to this yet?

I would like to know how many orders are still unproduced. How many orders were there in July? How big is the backlog?

What guy is still waiting since October? Cars started to get produced on March 16th. So it will be 5 Months on the 16th of this month.

Before I get attacked, I painfully understand the allocation process. That doesn't mean I agree with it.

Orders were taken back in October, so technically people have waited that long. Production didn't start until March, but since then over 30,000 vehicles were built. There were only 14,000ish orders made before production started. So in my opinion, and plenty others share it, there is no reason anyone who ordered before March should still be at 1100. They realistically should be at some status above 3800.

I see no reason why a first-in-first-out order system gives an unfair advantage. Allocate lot cars if you want, but orders with non-refundable deposits should trump an allocation system and move to FIFO.

But, it's not a FIFO system. GM sells the cars to the dealers, not the end customers. Cars are sold to dealers based upon allocation. I totally agree that it is not a fair system for the end customer. I would love to buy directly from GM.

status of your camaros

i work for gm dealership in saginaw michigan. i will try to sum up a littled of whats goin on with your orders. basically people who ordered their camaros last october and are still waiting is because someone has taken your spot on the order. ur order is there but the dealership didnt allocate your order and maybe they have people who have pull or they deal with alot that they would put them in front of you. this has happend at my dealership. i ordered a car on june 18th. i ordered a 6 speed and yes they were backed up for a couple weeks because of some shear pin problems with tranny, there was too much torque for them and they would bust. the problem is fixed and if anyone is telling you otherwise they are lying and moving you to the back of the line. probably mostly cause of cash deals. if someone pays cash or puts down a big deposit on the car they will go first. the dealer doesnt care who gets them as long as they get the money first. the dealer actually gets the ball rolling and you should be up their butt to get it done or threaten to go somewhere else. the vehicles are out there. a word of advice, if you want your car the dealership could possibly trade for it if they find one like the one you ordered. they will have no prob selling the one you ordered and you might be able to get one like you ordered sooner. i will stay up to date and thread me for questions.

the allocation system keeps dealers from just loading the system up on sold orders that are bogus to begin with just to get cars. the way it works is that a sold order counts against your allocation so if it isn't sold you are basically being penalized. i feel for you guys that have waited for so long but there aren't any favorites when it comes to allocation. you sell, you get more.

So is the bulk of the difference between the 32,000 produced and the 22,000 delivered the Avis rentals or what?

How many cars did Avis get?
