He's correct in that you will need to pull the dash. It's not the end of the world. It will simply take some time. Set aside a weekend and be tickled if you finishe early.

Try the below link. It is for installing HUD but it covers removal of the dash and may be what you are looking for.

I have to ask, why would you take apart the dash? The wires for the center speaker go all the way to the trunk. You can manipulate them there. In fact, they will be the only two wires on the x2 connector that are not connected, so it's real easy to pick them out. Just splice them into your source, whatever that may be.

Steve has a great point. You can tap into the centers in the trunk. This would be the way to go if you don't mind leaving the center speaker stock. Shoot it may be a good idea even if you change out the center with a new one.

This is how you would remove your center speaker, should you choose to do so.

Do you think I still need the FARK or will I just be able to tap into those wires in the trunk? What will happen to the stock amp? Should I unplug anything or just let it stay the way it is? I will most definitely replace the center speaker with an after-market one.

Regardless, you'll need the FARK, unless you're planning to run your own wires or cutting up existing wires. |

The bigger question is, how are you going to power a 5th speaker? You can't use a 5 channel amp, the power will blow that thing in a second. Only thing I can see that you can do is either us a processor that creates a center channel or jump the input signal of either the left or right speaker (head unit power).
This is why we don't put wires on our harness for the center speaker. It drives up the cost of our harness and then nobody has a way to power it anyhow. And therefore makes no sense for us to do it. I don't have time to tell 500 people a year how to do it or that they need to buy a different amp or whatever. For me I like to keep it simple. Because once you amp the other front speakers, it will improve your soundstage and more than make up for the missing center speaker. In other words, you won't miss it. |

If I buy your FARK and use that, can I still give power to the center speaker in any way? If so, how? (It sounds dumb to say, but I don't mind it being a left or right channel. The sound bouncing off the windshield is what I want.) |
