Detail job with Polish/Blacklight and advice for cleaning windows
Just finished a 2 day, 6 hour detail job for the first car show of the season. Bought a new DA orbital buffer this week from a member and couldn't wait to try it out.
Used Adams Finishing Polish to start since I wasn't trying to do any heavy paint correction. It took me about 3 hrs last night and 2 tonight to finish every single inch of the car. Is 5 hours too long for polishing? After the polishing, I used some of Chemical Guys Blacklight for a protectant/sealant. WOW, this stuff is amazing! No melting of panels or anything since I was mixing two leading competitors products, so that was good. The Blacklight goes on very easily. It says to let sit for at least 15 minutes, so I gave it 30 and it wipes off with no effort at all. I'm debating whether or not to put a few coats of Pete's 53 wax on tomorrow night. Will probably end up doing so. Here are a few pics of the results.

Was also hoping for a little advise from you real detailers out there. My old house had VERY bad hard water. I've gotten it all off the paint finally, but the windows are giving me a hard time. I'd think they would be easier.
What would you guys use to get these spots off? I was thinking a harsh compound with a wool pad on machine polisher. I've zoomed way in so they show up.

Try Claying first before anything else. Use Adams Glass cleaner for the clay lube.

The car looks great. I would definitely add the wax as I would not exactly consider black light a protectant. It's more of a glaze/light polish hybrid.

Claying, then white vinegar then polishing for the glass.

Looks great. I'm a Blacklight fan as well. Wax for sure on top of it.

Looks good!
Off-topic... What's the paint color considered on the 45th? It looks black but with metallic in it also?

Looks great. BlackLight will last less than two weeks without a good sealant/wax on top of it. 5 hours is nothing when polishing, to do it properly I would take atleast 5 hours if not longer. Also, not knocking Adams but there polishes and compounds general lack compared to others(I haven't tried their new formulas) so I would look into menzerna fg400 for a compound, and menzerna sf4000 for a polish. You also can't go wrong with meguires 105/205 for a compound and polish. In my experience 205 and sf4000 finish about the same and 205 is cheaper. But fg400 is in it's own league with moderate swirls and scratches. It nearly doesn't require a polish at all after finishing. Though I will say 105 does remove heavier swirls and bites into RIDS better, and definitely requires a polish afterwards.
Just some food for thought.

And also about windows. You can polish those but you will need a special paper thin pad to do it.
Larry at AMMO nyc has the best glass cleaning video I know of so here you go. I have used this process on atleast 20 clients cars as well as my own many times. http://youtu.be/q4WwOrkgXlc
