Some people don't want to void their warranty by tuning.
I suppose if you have the software for hpt u can switch it back to stock tune if u need work done

Your power train warranty will be voided if you tune period. Even if you flash back to stock before going in... They know... They are watching youuuu

The dealer doesn’t have the final say on warranty claims, GM does. Some dealers are certainly more "mod-friendly" than others, but on a large claim like an engine failure, GM will make the dealer scan the ECU and send them the info before authorizing the warranty service. There's a sticky in the tuning sub-forum that discusses it.

Sure, if improperly tuned, it's very possible. However, I would say it's unlikely if you are having an experienced tuner do the tuning.

I'd be a lot more concerned about some other engine failure occurring that may have occurred even without the tune. Say you start to have an oil consumption issue, or the cam chains crap out and cause some damage, etc. Even if the tune didn't directly lead to the failure, your warranty claim will likely be denied. Are the chances small? Probably. But I would personally go into tuning with the attitude that you will no longer have a powertrain warranty.

Good driver and good air. The only other lfx 2ls run on the top 10 is mine, currently #10, look at my DA compared to hers, I have horrible air here. Not sure what she looks like but I imagine I'm close to 150 lbs heavier also. She's got a killer 60', must be doing something right.

Thanks! I'm a cute little thing, I only weigh 103 pounds. And as far as people not believing my car is bone stock, I still have the $500 bet to offer.

Oh I believe you, back years ago I used to run in the uphill drags with my 6 cylinder CJ5, it was way faster than the other stock 6 cylinder Jeeps in my class and I also had better times than many of the V8 Jeeps. I got called out several times... I would just open the hood and say find something on my Jeep that isn't stock... Everything was stock even the exhaust.
Every once in a while a engine is assembled and everything comes together so well it's like the engine has been balanced and blueprinted.... It doesn't happen often but when it does that is when you get one better than the rest.

A Jeep was my first car! I had an inline 6 though. I've gotten called out a few times. It just annoys me when they try to take away my credit for something I've obviously accomplished.

But don't it feel good when you show them and they have absolutely nothing to come back with?
Yeah the driver has a lot to do with it also... I beat my son's time with his own car, it was a 5 speed manual and at that time I had not driven a manual for about10 years...he wasn't happy about that....
