I love third gens and I love this project after only 2 minutes from first seeing it. Are you doing anything to the suspension, and were you planning on doing a strut brace like on the current ZL1's?

Cool project! I'm curious about the weight. If you're using the ZL1 differential I would be amazed if you could keep the weight under 3800.

I think it will be lighter than a ZL1 for sure, maybe not 1K lighter.It won't have all of the added safety and convenience crap that weighs modern cars down. It'll be a performer no matter what, that's for sure. Def. a cool project and 1 of a kind....car's super clean. I'll always have a soft spot for the 3rd gens...my first "performance" car was an '86 IROC many moons ago.

That's great...but heavier duty trans and breaks aren't that easy to cut weight on. Really this build is awesome no matter what. I just don't think 1K# in curb weight is feasible once you swap drivetrains that are more HD and add necessary bracing w/ it being a vert.
