umm..when you pull them off, it will scratch as there is no protective liner. Better to put strips of clear bra prior to installation.

I would not install a grille unless there was enough clearance between painted surfaces that it would never touch them. Even a padded surface will eventually wear through paint if it touches.

Anyway, once I removed the grille i discovered some pretty bad gouges in the paint from where it rubs on the inner lip of the bumper. Its almost symmetrical a few inches from the center on both sides, the pix I took are pretty forgiving from what it actually looks like..I was in a garage and a cellphone cam with no flash etc..

I contacted T Rex today and let them know about the issue in their design.

I will post up their response, if you have one or plan on installing one soon my suggestion is get some clear bra, some vinyl or some weather stripping..anything to protect the paint from the bottom edge of the grille..they look great but are dangerous to the paint.

I actually ordered this same grill and i seen your pics and i was upset that i would get my bumper all jacked up .. i also have a black camaro and we all know Scratches on black are death... So i made a solution to the problem and it worked great.. I bought some weather stripping from car doors and put it in the bottom of the grill... what makes this so great is not only does the rubber stop the grill from scratching it actually makes it sit nice and snug and all the weight is on the rubber .. I paid 15 bucks for 10 feet,, it literally is the same exact width of the bottom of the grill.. You can not tell its there because its also black... perfect for the problem .. I wish the company would provide other buyers with a strip of this so they can protect there bumpers... i will post a pic if you like... Thanks for the heads up!!!http://www.camaro5.com/forums/images/smilies/thumb.gif
