Yes Sir. Ultra High Performance A/S. See post 33 in my journal below for the full thought process behind this decision.

Indy.

I love these forums, I finally found someone that is just as bad as me! I built a shop that my CFO don't have the key to, in fact I park the tractors in front of it so it don't even appeal to her! The brown truck can deliver there and not be seen!!

Back at ya. I wish I had that setup! I was still at work when Brown showed up. My "CFO" took delivery. She didn't know I had ordered them (errr, spent the money). It didn't take long for her to pop the question, "How much did those cost, $1200?" I said, "Good guess. Per axle." I got the cold shoulder the rest of the night.

Wed AM update: Still sitting in Cementdale. That's over 48 hours since the train arrived. Tomorrow will be the nine week anniversary of my order placement. "Hot" indeed. The only thing getting hot is my attitude. GM's response:

My update: still no car in my garage. The aftermarket wheels I bought and center console lid are still "enroute" to my dealership. They told me the other day was the fact that all of TE parts had to be delivered at once. So, my question was, what parts are there to wheels? Their answer: the center caps weren't in. Uh, center caps aren't Pre installed with the wheels? Nope! So, my lengthy wait is due to these center caps. FML!

And to add to this. They, my dealership, have NO way to track the wheels with Fed Ex. How is that even possible? No tracking #????

So, I wait another day. Hoping for good news tomorrow. Regardless, I will get the car on Saturday. I just didnt want to make two separate trips as the dealer is 60 miles from my house.

Pls send good vibes my way!!!

My dealer told me today that my car is still sitting in the yard
GM CS is CLULESS! "Try calling back next week and maby we will know something"
If I here that one more time

This is ridiculous! 18 hours to build a Camaro and still has not shipped after 20 days???
Somebody needs to be fired! GM needs to get it together. Rotors are bond to be rusting sitting outside for so long.

Well....I feel a little better now

Insurance

Get this...

Pre-Camaro, I have three cars insured by Travelers. Being the responsible person that I am, I add the Camaro to my policy on 3/29 when I closed the deal--just in case. I ask my agent about insuring add-ons, "customization". They quote me a seemingly reasonable $143/5000. Then the bomb...

"Travelers will not insure you if any of the customization increases performance".

Say what? OK, send me a copy of the policy. I read through it and there's a long list of exclusions but no mention of "customization" or even racing. So, I point this out. I explain that my customization may add 10% to a car rated at 426 HP. Chevrolet sells a higher performance rated ZL1 at 580 HP. Does Travelers insure that model? What's the difference?

Where's the definitive list of mods that "add performance"? I have a $2400 set of aftermarket wheels and all-season tires sitting in my garage that I purchased for aesthetics and improved safety in cold weather as the OE comes with high performance summer only tires. But this wheel/tire combo reduces weight by 54 lbs. A lighter car is a faster car. That improves performance. Where is the line? The stock car can cause maximum mayhem in the wrong hands. A 10% increase in performance makes zero difference in it's loss potential from collision.

I made their heads spin. Of course, they had no answer to this and had me write up my questions to be forwarded to their contact at the company. However, despite my outstanding logic, I'm quite sure nothng will change In their pretzel logic coverage. So, I need to find a new insurance company.

Who are you guys insured by? Have you broached the subject of "customization"? Do you have your add-ons covered or do you just avoid the subject and hope they don't find out?

Customer service sent me an email, it's on a car and headed this way as of 4pm yesterday. Ok, it's still showing in Oshawa , but, at least it found a ramp!

I have been doin this stuff for along time. Really the insurance companies have really been all the same. They will drop your ass or raise your rates if pull a claim with a bunch of mods that you didn't have "bound".

The only thing I bind is paint. I have a binder on my paint job on my dually for 20k, it cost roughly $72 bux a month above the premium. But I carry this because I have had two full claims on truck.

Most of the time if your tires and wheels got stolen, the factory wheel replacement is more than most wheels you buy today, so insurance will most of the time give you more money than the aftermarket wheels you have. Now where it gets sticky is when you have big horsepower. I just got a letter from Hagerty stating they are canceling my insurance on my 68 Chevelle because it has over 700 hp. There was a dyno sheet with the motor paperwork in my appraisal , and the nerd kicked it out. So I made a call to my local provider and asked him about my 14 camaro and he didn't want to hear about it. Basically he won't cover my 14 either over 700hp, so I guess I'm just going to keep my mouth shut!

So in a nut shell , what I put under the hood and on chassis is on me.
