As to your car, all you really need (recommended) is high temp brake fluid and make sure brakes/tires are in good shape. You also need an approved helmet.

The car in stock form will be more capable then you your first time out, so you will have more than enough performance to get out and see if you want to continue running track events. If you do continue then there are several good posts about which mods to do first.

Signed up for my first event, at Road Atlanta with Peachstate PCA. Bought a helmet yesterday, and looking forward to getting out there. I plan to look into events with NASA, Chin, SCCA.
