Thanks all, I've been in the Shelby and it's acceleration in 2nd is brutal;however, I was very unimpressed with the M6 shifting. At 4600', the Shelby RHP was ~577; however, he's added an UDP and CAI since then. I was planning a 416 VVT build and I think that got into his head a bit, plus I asked him which he thought was better.....Procharger, Vortech or Paxton?

Not sure where all of this is going to go, but I'm out for venom and I want to do it NA.

If he added a CAI, more than likely he has a tune also. so he probably in the mid 600 RWHP range.
IF he added the 13-6 kit (which is popular mod for the 2013-14 GT500's) he is in the 700+ RWHP range.
Better make sure you know what's on the car.

What he said^ make sure you know whats on that car or he could be pushing some serious power. But with all that power he still has to be able to hook

. His CAI (carbon fiber) looks great and is pretty much straight. Will have to go back over our texts and tell him I'm going FI stock block.

My first born is too old to sell.

I believe JLT is the only one that makes the Carbon fiber CAI for the GT500's, being a 2013 it's probably a 127mm (same one I run on my car)
So his car will NEED a tune for it.

If that's the only thing he has done, I would expect 630+ RWHP, IF he swapped pulleys look out.

He's done the pulleys and is ball parking about a 100rwhp gain from his ~577rwhp dyno. A group of us hang out together and share in the fun of the rural wide open spaces, mostly Camaros, but some don't care for the local Mustang group and they join in. I really like the looks of the Shelby and he's done some nice upgrades; his Shelby is a beast.

It's like the old days when we rode in our buddies rides and did things we can't talk about here.

Having said that, still want to experience what the 5gen is capable of before my gray hair turns white.

FWIW, looks like the Corvette A8 is a go for next year, shifts faster than a 911. Seems like whatever we plan to build today will be outdated tomorrow, been that way for a long time.

GT500 doesn't come with all seasons....but the Camaro should win unless the guy you are racing is Evan Smith LOL

As mentioned
It would come down to the wheel/tire setup on the A6. With that higher stall converter and properly setup wheel/tires, the A6 would have a significant advantage in a drag race.

I know this from experience against a local GT500. Your wheel/tire setup plays a huge part in a drag race. That's why I run 305/45/18 drag radials on the street.

Like others, I'm thinking the GT 500 may have some hook up issues with the added HP. Plus, temps are hitting the 90s and I expect heat soak with the Magnuson will be an issue in the near future.

Looking forward to the build and seeing what these 5gens can do against tough competition.

Me too..

But with 700+ RWHP drag radials still don't help much.

Many times having less HP is an advantage on the street (and even at the track).
I'm just running bolt ons + 3200 stall and my 18" DRs work hard to get a good hook off the line. If I had any more power or steeper gearing, I wouldn't be able to hook at all on the street.

Before my converter, I got a dead hook on the street with my DRs. But the higher stall changed that. That's why I dropped down to 18" wheels with fatter/thicker DRs.

I haven't been to the track with my 18" DRs yet. I ran my 12.10 with my old 20" wheels.

True,
I can spin the Nitto 555r's at will anything below 60 mph.
I run Nitto 555r 305/35/20 for street use.
With 3:73 gears and 650+ lbs. torque at 2500 rpm, they scream for mercy.
According to my Aeroforce gauge I can get consistant 3.4 0-60 though.
