Thanks Tony. I'm thinking I will also use the new wheels with UHP A/S to protect my Pirellis from highway mileage. My first scheduled road trip is over July 4th weekend to Camaro SuperFest in Detroit. I will swap them prior to that trip then probably put the Pirellis back on after the trip. not to mentioni get to show off the wheels in front of 500 fellow Camaro owners, Hah!

I am. It's amazing how all the angst from the wait just evaporates once your car arrives. Keep that in mind because you will experience the exact same thing soon.

Thanks, Dean. Of course there's a back-story (and you know by now I get pretty manic on the details). I took a bit of a risk because I didn't even have samples of the color of the stripes. But I had a good model in mind. I was trying to get as close as possible to the design scheme of the 2013 60th Anniversary Corvette Convertible, which to me, is one of the most beautiful cars ever built. Those stripes are a very cool Silver Blue Pearl. My DTA stripes are a much different color, more of a charcoal gray but probably go better with the black top and "midnight" RS wheel package (which turned out to be a stronger contributor to the overall look than I expected and frankly, an argument against the white wheels). The Camaro "Indy" stripes were also a 'late available' option. [Which makes my color combo on a vert with 6M, short shift, NPP a rare if not unique build-and I kinda like that!] We actually tried to enter the order in late January but the Workbench wouldn't accept it because the stripes weren't ready. My salesman kept trying and finally got it to stick on 2/6. I was also seriously considering the Spring Special 'vert' which is somewhat similar with blue contrasts (and those stripes do not come down the front bumper). We actually took a family vote on the color schemes and the gray/black/white won out. It's a little weird how they carried the stripes onto the top of the windshield but the Camaro has a body color surround whereas the Vette doesn't. Also, the Camaro has two breaks in the front bumper element vs. one for the 'Vette but I like that and think it actually gives more reason to tie it all together with stripes. So, I got a little lucky it turned out as well as it did, but the idea wasn't original. I had a template in the ultimate C6. So, why not just get that car (which had the same 505 HP 427 as found in the new Z/28)? $90,000!

A picture is worth a thousand words, right? OK, you've already suffered through the words. Here's the pic:

I picked up my ZL1 today! My dealer had it in the showroom and I was able to drive it off the showroom floor. He had a sign on it that said "stay away!" And, he gave me a ZL1 hat to celebrate the occassion. All of you who have said the ZL1 is fun to drive were spot on. The drive home was amazing! What a truly amazing vehicle. I absolutely LOVE it!!!!!

Congrats, Terp. Where's the pics?

I can only imagine my car with another 150 HP! I have posted in a couple of threads that knowing what I know now about Camaros, if I were shopping for a coupe with a high end SS budget, I'd nab one of those leftover 2013 ZL1s. It's got a lot of goodies beyond the supercharger, especially those magno shocks.

Now for the hard part - the 1500 mile break in!

Tip: Set the speed notification warning to 75. It gets there effortlessly and you won't even know you're going that fast. Glad to hear you had a good dealer experience. Enjoy!

I've got 175 on the clock now. As far as break in goes, 4000 RPM gives you plenty of room to play. NPP opens up at 3000 so I go to 4000 almost every shift. I think the main thing is to keep accelerating/decelerating rather than steady droning down the highway. Mines going in the dyno in a few hundred miles so I'm not too worried about the 1500 mi < 4000. But I'll give it a few hundred. Never have tripped the skip shift.

Installed my Rx catch can and CAI intake this morning. Can't wait to get out and try 'em out.

Gary,
Give us a sound clip of the car when it's under load like through two or three gears , have someone stand right behind ya so we can hear that thing groan when it takes off! And post some pics of your CAI, you didn't tell me which one ya got?

I got a Cold Air Inductions CAI, Rx catch can and separator and just got back from tint. Might do some gills today and Camaro_Krazee has now convinced me I need clear bra. Then headers and tune. Then I should be done for a while. The CFO is starting to whine a bit. Good thing I've got a cash stash or the headers.

Below is almost done. Haven't put the window lid on yet. You can see why you have to do a washer bottle relocate if you want to put the air scoop in. But that airbox fits in there TIGHT. In fact, it's a chore getting the lid on. It's also insulated and the pipie is ceramic coated on the inside. So, good attention to detail on heat soak.

Just back from tint...

Yes, it's legal. It's already cop bait. I don't need them looking for additional violations.

BTW Indy, what grade Tint is that? And can you still see out pretty clearly? I don't want it too dark, the visibility on our vehicles are already pretty limited..
