The master plugs into the center console power outlet via a supplied USB power adapter. It does not require the factory USB port. |

Ok, just want to make sure I understand this correctly before ordering... The kits allows you to control your stock RS headlights. The DRL harness allow you to control the DRL's as log as you have LED installed? (I have the PSX26W 6W 4300K) The grill light option adds a third zone to be controlled. I have a Oracle rear bowtie light installed. How do I go about adding this to your system to be controlled? (it's single color BTW) I'd like to add some side underbelly lighting & under hood engine lights. So what do I need to add to the on-line order to allow this? Thx for the help

Do you want each segment of the underbody lights controlled separately? What lights are you wanting to group? Are you going to wire in your domelights and install footwell or cupholder lights? Are you going to control those with the PWM (comes on and goes off with the dome circuit)? Do you want certain lights to only come on with the ignition, and others are controllable even when the car is off? It seems a bit convoluted, but Joe is a fantastic resource on ways to do all of this. I started off with two modules, went up to three, then redid my system after realizing how I was using the system and ended up with two modules, then used the third specifically for my scanner. I used two more in my wife's Mustang controlling an incredible array (34 sets of 3) of single-color LEDs plus RGB underbody, grill and engine bay...your only limited by your imagination....Last edited by jhiiidoc; 04-18-2014 at 08:16 AM. |

Agreed plan your install prior to taking this on. Also plan ahead. If you debate on adding more lights do it now. Makes it easier IMO. You can add later but have to spend time going back in.
My master controller is hard wired in and stays on constantly. I have 3 SL boxes at this time and each channel controls a light. For example my Left Halo is on one and the Right Halo is on another. Each light is separated out on its own channel in order to control independently if needed. You can also fine tune each light to all be exact color. Many times when buying different LEDs colors can be slightly off, but with Night owl you can fine tune them. On the SL module you can also wire for a Solid Color. For example my engine lighting is just red. You will need LED bulbs to be able to control them via your fogs and such. Joe is the master but sounds to me like you need 1-2 SL modules. It all depend on how you want it set up |

Thanks guys for your input. I do often recommend people that want to do the halos, to start with that. Our kit is all plug-and-play, and it really lets you learn the system and its capabilities.
We have several users that have hard-wired their master module. Most of these are placed in the side of the dash above the fuse box. We just don't have anything plug-and-play for that. It does help to have a way to turn it on/off. The undercarriage is best suited with its own SL module. The undercarriage takes a lot of current, which pretty much maxes out an SL module. You could put one SL under the dash to run your engine bay (one port), floorboard (one or two ports), and maybe the front undercarriage. Then you could install another SL module in the trunk to control both undercarriage sides and the back, as well as the single-color bowtie. Other than the halo kit, this does take a little wiring know-how. We just started carrying some really nice 4-conductor 20ga wire in a black jacket to run for your LED strips. You can do any of this now, or later. Expandable at any time. Sounds like you got it with the halos, DRL, and grill. You could run some engine bay lights off the extra port on the halo kit HP Module. You would need to get one of our "SL Pigtails" so that it will plug right in. |
