But if everyone else also wants to go to Sharky's, I'm guessing the manager would want us there before they get crowded. |

We had a good time at the mini-meet yesterday at Hooters in Fort Myers. It was great to finally meet Keith (Blazzin1) and Wendy! Robert, we did discuss Sharky's and if it's OK with you guys we would love to come up on Saturday, 31 May. I believe Sharky's opens at 11:30am; so if we get there at 11, we should be able to secure parking with the manager's assistance. What do you and the other Tri-County Tampa people think? (Kevin...where are you??? ) If things work out, it should be a real fun day![]() When we got home yesterday afternoon, my sister came over and presented a present to me. Normally I don't go in for this sort of thing, but this guy is special: Attachment 621196 She made the bear and chose the color scheme to match my car. Pretty neat and here's what makes it special: Attachment 621197 Also, we ran into Jim's wife on the way home and she mentioned Jim might be a little under the weather today after yesterday's rock and roll event at Fenway Park, South. I hope he recovers soon

I am going to contact Sharky's tomorrow to see what the options are. The thing about Sharky's is that the menu has changed over the years as well as the food/staff and personally I don't think it is as good as it use to be. If you all still want to proceed with it, then it is not an issue. A better restaurant that is on the intercoastal is Pops, which is in Venice, but parking would be an issue with more then 20 cars as it is a smaller facility/parking lot. If you guys wouldn't mind driving just a little bit further, we could do something on Siesta Key, there is a bunch of restaurants that is walking distance from Siesta Beach, or we could do St. Armands, which they have the Old Salty Dog, which has good food, as well as a pretty decent parking lot. Like I said I will call Sharkys tomorrow and see what the deal is, if you want me to check out any places let me know.
Siesta Key has the following restaurants: Daiquiri Deck, The Hub, Siesta Key Oyster Bar, Gilligans Bar and Grille St. Armands has the following: Daiquiri Deck and The Old Salty Dog

I've been to all of these places and they are great, but no matter where they all will have parking issues due to the location. I always take the Harley to siesta and St Armand, always front row parking ;-)

Yeah, that is why I was either leaning towards Sharky's due to the larger parking lot or Old Salty Dog, which also has a dedicated parking lot and both are right on the water.

We'll defer to you guys because you know the area much better than we do. So far, from what I saw on the Internet, Sharky's looks fine... The website for Old Salty Dog (http://theoldsaltydog.com/) sucks, but if you guys like that place you won't hear any bitching from the SWFL guys.
