last I checked just the coefficients, all of the major tools have the coeficients, we did custom operating systems for a while for these but with all the new pcm's going to the VVE we've dedicated alot of our time to releasing our own version of VVE as well.

That would make a LOT of people happy Bill. I'm sure you get plenty of encouragement on the HPT forums . I'll keep watching for it in new versions.

HP Tuner:
$500.00 for the device
$150 for a Tune
Total $650

SCT Device:
$399.00 which includes the device and tune
Total $399

So I am saving $251 that I could put towards another mod to get a tune file to connect to my interface to upload a remote tune. I think if your a person that has those skills, then obviously the HP maybe better. But for the guys who don't mess with the files....SCT is the way to go. Just my opinion is all.
Wrong. HPTuners is $500 and includes enough credits to tune 4 cars. There is no $150 charge for a tune. And the SCT price you quote has the canned tune in it. You will pay extra for a custom tune.

How about you provide some proof instead of making idiotic comments with no proof to back it up?

If I want a custom tune and not a canned one like from FSP or Tampa etc it is $150. Or does the tuner accept these credits for payment? How does that work?

You won't get a canned tune from FSP or Tampa. A lot of them just include a simple tune for free for buying from them. You'll still have to datalog for updates on MAF and fueling adjustments.

The credits don't have anything to do with the tune. I'm not sure why that is getting conflated here. You just have to use credits to license a vehicle. You use credits in HPT instead of only being able to do 1 car at a time with the SCT handheld. I don't have to return to stock to use my HPT setup on someone else's car.

I guess if you don't use it much, you didn't know that.

There is never any $150 charge from HPTuners for a tune. The whole point of HPTuners is to learn to do it yourself. If someone is charging $150 for a tune it is an individual, not HPTuners.

I feel the need to put the free tunes for sct crap to bed. THE TUNE IS NOT FREE. Your paying more for the parts. The only free tune is from the Vmax exchange. Everything else is marked up. You want examples "LPE Fuel pump" Buy directly from lpe and it's 95.00 cheaper. Buy ZL1 pump from any other vendor average savings is about 60.00. I can go on and on with these. So if someone thinks they are getting the tune for free they are buying fools gold.

If you don't believe me search. I did it in 5 minutes. It would actually be cheaper finding the best price and paying tuner for updated tune.

Haven't looked. Your probably right. I only did the VMAX. But I like the customer service I receive from JRE. I am sure the others are great too. Just happened to be the vendor I picked and got lucky with. I have seen on here a lot of happy people reporting back on the other vendors.

As far as the tune, I personally don't have a desire to learn about tables or tweak my settings. I know of a lot of others who are the same way. I really respect the people who have taken the time to learn this stuff. But I choose to spend my time in other ways is all.

Oh, I am right. The more parts you buy the more your paying for your tune. That should be the slogan. I'm not criticizing your choice, because it's yours alone. I've been down that rode. I'm happier where I'm at now. And fwiw, SCT is not the only remote choice. I'd rank autocal from EFI Live ahead of it. Same concept (No I don't own one).

Yea, a simple search tells all.
