I have owned both a 2LT/RS and now a 2SS/RS. From my experience; insurance was the same and gas has gone up. You have to ask yourself what is more important to you! Creature comfort or more power? Only you will know which is best for you.

for me i never considered a V6 and if you could only get the V6 in a Camaro Id never have bought one. I bought a camaro because its a V8 Stick muscle car. To each his own. nothing wrong with buying what you want with your money. The V8 does get great mileage if you can keep off the gas.

I should have bought a ZL1

Hell yea the v8 is worth it, if you can afford it. Since you're in doubt just get the v8. Trust me, I've had an LS.

Is a muscle or sports car "loaded" without a V8?

I say V8! Its well worth it !, plus if you take it easy on the gas and can control your impulse of stepping on it, you'll get decent gas mileage. That rumble of the V8 its just amazing. And down the road, if you want to upgrade, I think the V8 will hold up the value better. just my 2 cents....

Me, i didn't want an 8.

323 HP plus 30 MPG on the highway for weekend trips. Also the sixes are faster than 95% of the other cars on the street anyhow.

Gotta ask yourself if your gonna cruise or race. I'm cruizin' in a victory red i modded into a Hot Wheels car. My biggest issue is cleaning off all the little kids fingerprints.

Get the v8. It's not even close. If your budget is under 30k you can definitely get a 2ss/rs especially if you don't care what year camaro you get. I've seen plenty of 2ss under 30k in Vegas. It is harder to find a manual if that what you are looking for though. Yes your insurance will be a lil more and gas is obviously not as good but having over 400 hp is well worth it even though you won't be using it often.

I'm not trying to talk ish about the v6 or anything but this car was made to have the power of the v8 under its hood.

I was in the same situation last year when I was replacing my G8. I almost went with a redline Challenger (or whatever its called) because my wife LOVED the red and black combo. The only problem was that option only came on V6 cars. At the end of the day the performance and sound just wasn't there and we test drove our Camaro the next day and were sold. Test drive the two see which you like better, but remember there's no replacement for displacement!

Only you can answer that if you do not really care about having 400+ HP then go with the V6 if you must have the HP well then your only option is the V8. I myself went for the 2LT/RS for the simple reason it was my daily driver and I did not want the V8 for my 120+ mile per day commute and be spending $500+ a month in gas.

This is the big factor. I drive 8 miles each way for work so the V8 doesn't affect my monthly wallet that bad. If I still drove 70 miles a day it would be a different story.
