That quote comes from the Discount Tire website. I have not seen similar statements on the Mickey Thompson or Nitto websites. If anyone can point us to a corroborating website it would be appreciated.

Was wondering if anyone knew what they did and if it's worth it?
Did it.... Not worth it!! Save your money.... Especially on the Nitto's...

Rear end?

I have been reading up on everyones comments, lots of good info. I will be buying my first set of drag radials for my Camaro soon.
My question is that has anyone ever had any read end issues with sticker tires? I have 471HP at the rear tires and a stock rear end, should I be concerned upgrading to sticker tires. I have the M6!!

I would be more worried about the axles...

With the M6 maybe at your HP. With the auto don't worry about it. Am auto with about 300 passes on the stock axles and diff part of them at 586 and the rest at 633 RWHP running DR and slicks.

Jeff I tried to go out and better my best time from last year but I spun. Short version, same tires, making more power, even harder to hook.

Long version I tried a few things but after deleting cats, chopping out heavy stock L99 reso, and adding in x pipe, updated ported PTB, major spin fest. 12.1's, 1.88-1.91 60's.... 90-91 1/8th... 112-113.

My local track I would rate a C to a B for drag radial prep, some tracks are clearly better. I would say not mine.

So I'll keep my NTO5Rs as street tires this year since I plugged one of them and I think that makes it unsellable.

Phase II for me is getting new tires for the back.

Good info John, and makes me feel better about kissing the NT05Rs good-bye. I'm going back this weekend with the MTs and hopefully I haven't forgot how to make them work.

I know you mentioned that health keeps you from switching tires, but maybe you can find a kid to do 'em for you and you put those NT05Rs on as the street tires.

Did you get out again Jeff?

John, I didn't get out again, but the MTs are back on the car and hopefully the weather will cooperate Friday night. I'm willing to pay the price for the MT grip. I'm close to having the NT05Rs sold, I hope.

Thanks for the info and help with my drag racing endeavor.

John, got out again last night and there is joy in Mudville again. The MTs stuck like glue and the smile on my face was back.
