Talking Soon to be 1LE owner

Hi everybody, new guy here. I'm heading over to my dealership in couple of hours to place an order for a White 1SS Camaro with the 1LE package, NPP exhaust, and Recaro seats. What is the average time from the day you order until you get it pick it up? Also, what are some of the most common mods people do? I already know I'm going to do the #8 fuse pull and get a skip shift eliminator. I'll be sure to keep this thread posted as time goes on.

I was at the dealer today and he said he'll look around and call me back Monday if can get one from another dealer or not. If not he said we can order one and it'll take 6-8 weeks. He also mentioned something about a shortage of the Recaro seats, is this true?

I thought they weren't taking anymore orders for the 2014 1LEs. Might want to check on that, I'm pretty sure the book is open for ordering 2015s now

As for the Recaro seats I haven't heard that anywhere but could be possible.

Did you ask the dealer if they had an allocation for one? Rumor was circulating that they were on constraint a bit ago and that cutoff was quickly approaching to order a 2014. I would highly recommend sending a PM to BeckyD to ask if they're on constraint or even if it's possible to still order a 2014.

My gut-feeling is that the salesman you spoke with is pulling your chain to string you along so that you didn't walk out when he said "we don't have one and we can't order one but we can help you look to see if there's one nearby." There is no shortage on the Recaro seats. There are several threads regarding the ordering process through GM but the short of it is that not just any dealership can order any car at any time. If they don't have an allocation for a camaro then taking your order and money is only going to put it in GM's queue until they are given an allocation (much longer than 6-8 weeks.)

I must've sent out maybe 15-20 emails to various dealerships within a 200 mile radius from where my family lives in KS before I got a response from a dealership that had an allocation. I placed my order on March 20th for my RRM 1SS 1LE w/ NPP, RS package, Recaros, BA stereo, and rear-vision package. It's scheduled to be produced the week of May 5th and the last word from my dealership was that they hope to have it before Memorial Day (May 25th). If the rail car queue is cleared out and it does get delivered by then, yeah that'll be about 8 weeks from order to delivery.

I just sent her a PM. I hope it's not too late to order one.

Awesome and happy for you.

Not to steer this thread to the wrong direction but can someone please explain the fuse #8 pull. I searched it but couldn't find anything of significance. Ty

Congrats again

Edit: found the thread and answered my own questions.

Search the forum for "NPP exhaust fuse pull". Or go to sunset orange web site and read about exhaust commander.

Good luck getting one. I was fortunate and found one (Bright yellow 2SS/1LE) a couple of months ago. Wasn't at first sure about the yellow, but aside from ordering, the next closest 1LE was 200 miles away in NJ. It is one the meanest (and nicest) looking Camaros GM has made (I think). Fuse #8 is for your NPP exhaust and will keep the flaps open all the time if you pull it or you can search a place like Phastek Performace and get a "mild to wild" add on that allows you to either use your homelink or the remote controller to change your exhaust sound. Wish you the best.

The dealer found 3 cars, none of them exactly what I wanted. What would you do?
1. White, 1LE, NPP, Recaros, RS, Boston Acoustics, and Nav.
2. Black, 1LE, Recaros
3. White 1LE, NPP

Definitely the first one for me. My two requirements were NPP and RS for my car. Everything else on there is extra fluff to me but I would pay the extra to get those. Besides your original posts says you wanted NPP and Recaros and that's the only car that comes with both.

I'd get # 1 also bc it's the only one that have all of what your op had in it plus extras. Recaros are harder to get than the npp, trust me I know bc I didn't get them thinking they would be easy to find. Not yet, & they won't be cheaper.
