ordered my part.

I had become paranoid not knowing if the HSA was on or not on hills... I'd rev up and not on... or grab for Ebrake to shut it off... a horrible feature not tested thoroughly.

Does anyone have a easier way to installing this new sensor?
There's gotta be a less tedious way then taking apart the hole center console?
So anyone have any short cuts or what?

Got it done, man what a pain in the ass that was to take the whole console apart..
I'm sure the return will be worth it though!

LOL.. Sorry, it was pretty straightforward. Either way, it was less than an hour for the job and the test drive to a wet parking lot and a couple of local hills.

The only odd part was the two rear floor screws that came out really easy with a thin flat blade screwdriver. Didn't completely remove the console, just lifted it aside enough to get at the unit. Actually pretty impressed with the fit and quality of the components compared with earlier Camaros

Yeah I probably did it the long way, that's why I asked for a short cut before I started but got no responses and my screws that were to the rear of the console on the floor were loose as well... weird!
But there not anymore...

I have a brand new sensor for sale

Bought it for my 2013 ss but sold the car before I ever opened the sensor to install it. Give me any reasonable offer and it's yours.

My 1LE hasn't shown up yet but I wanna remove the HSA just on principal lol. I drive standard Toyota Land cruisers everyday at work underground and 80% of the time your starting on a 20-40% grade incline going up ramp.

only problem is that i don't want to void my warranty

There is no way this mod will void your warranty. No mod can entirely void your warranty in any case. Unless they can prove a mechanical failure directly resulted from the aftermarket part or change that you made, they have to honor the warranty. This is detailed in the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act and is federal law.

Tunes are the most problematic, but even with a tune, I know many a car owner who has gotten warranty work done because the problem was not traced to the tune.

This mod in particular is not even an aftermarket part, it is the same part from the automatic version of the Camaro which does not have a yaw sensor included. About the only problem it could cause is your car rolling down hill at a light because the hill assist did not come on... which is what you are trying to disable in any case. If you manage to crash your car because the hill assist was disabled, then yes, your warranty will not cover that.

I have not done this mod as the hill assist doesn't bother me that much, but I have done a lot of other mods so I have researched the issue.

Yes and Yes butttt ...... when the problem isn't because of the mod you've done and GM says it is, best of luck proving it otherwise. Hope you have boat loads of money for those lawyers to try and battle GM .

Which brings me back to...... mod at your own risk and as soon as you do expect your warranty to not work to the best of it's ability or maybe at all.
I'm heavily modded and I don't give a f××k

Anyone have a how to on opening up the center console? I haven't ever done it so I would like to read about how to before I give it a shot.

Thanks

I should mention that I read the one that the OP noted, but I'm still confused on just how you start to open up the console.
