Getting Those 1LE Emblems Straight

Wanted to put up a thread in the 1LE section specifically aimed at the emblem install and placement. This may be better suited in the HowTo section but I didn't want folks with the 1LEs to miss it.

As many others have done, and I followed, I ordered these incredible 1LE emblems from Roger at emblem pros.
All are mirrored with Red "1": 1 - Small(Interior), 1 - Medium(Trunk Lid), 2 - Large(Hood)
When they arrived, the emblems were packaged very well, and their work is top notch professional. I will definitely be ordering my front grill emblems next.

Of course everyone has done a great job with their installs and this is only sharing my process of taking the individual "1" "L" and "E" and lining them up/spacing them before I installed them.

I used: Painter's tape, metal ruler, Fine Point Sharpie, 2 and 3 DVDs(used for spacing), and Isopropyl Alcohol(this isn't the stuff you drink, ).

1) I taped one long piece of painters tape sticky side up, shown in 1st pic.
2) I used the Fine Point Sharpie to draw a straight line on the tacky side, 1st pic.
3) I placed the "E" down first(metallic surface face down) and worked my way over to the final "1", 3rd pic. The red tape is the back of the emblem.
4) This is key for spacing: I used 2 DVDs(pancaked together) between each piece. You could use 1 DVD, 2, or 3 depending on your preference.
5) Pic 3 shows the final placement of the "1LE" - this is the Small emblem that I put on the interior panel. * Again, used 2 DVDs for spacing on this small emblem. *
6) Pic 4 is a simple shot of the area that I placed the emblem. Clean this with Alcohol.
7) Pic 5 is the final placement of the aligned emblems onto the panel. You can work with this to see exactly where you want to place the emblem before you peel the red backing off the back of each emblem. Once I peeled the red backing off I had to eyeball the alignment of the emblems to make sure I had them in the center of the panel(top to bottom).
8) Next, apply medium pressure to the emblems once they are stuck to the panel. Then, I used a hair dryer on the emblems to warm them up a bit, just to be sure there were no adhesion issues.
9) Pic 6 is the completed project. I peeled the blue painters tape off at and angle approximately 15-20 minutes after I pressed them onto the panel.

I did this same exact process for the Large emblems on the hood. I used 3 DVDs for the spacing on the Large emblems.

*Pic 7 is the final prep placement for hood.

Hope this was helpful for folks.

Thanks! I grabbed what was close and within site, with kids, we always have DVDs/CDs laying around. The idea was to get the consistency in spacing.
