Intake manifold shield/insulator

I've searched and have been unable to find out how to remove the shield under the engine cover. Do I have to remove the fuel line crossover to get it out of there, or is there a better way? Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Thanks Tyler. Was hoping there would be an easier way, but maybe down the road I'll get it done.

What's the purpose of removing the cover?

And that is why I asked.
Don't know if I'll be pulling the fuels lines right away, hell, only have 98 miles on the car so far. Guess when the time comes for upper engine mods, then it will become trash.
Thanks guys.

Could it also help keep the heat out? Consider the cool air coming into the intake manifold wisking away what little heat transfers from the plastic to the intake air. With the extra shield it could act as a heat barrier on the transfer of heat from the engine compartment to the cooler air coming into the intake manifold. Just another thought on the subject.

Considering that most of that engine bay heat is coming from underneath the intake, I highly doubt it.

OP when u take the cover off go ahead and do the fuel rail flip then fuel disconnect you need can be bought at autozone or similar for about 10 bucks and take about 2 minutes to disconnect also I used a corvette c5 fuel line for my flip to get rid of all that crazy fuel lines on the top of the cover paid about 20 bucks for the line on ebay
