What is the general price range for a VVT cam like this installed and the car tuned so I can start saving?

Are those values for combined runner length? 10" for the shortest seems quite long.

Wonder if this explains the dip always present at around 3,000rpm.

That is one bad azz cam!.. went out the other night with a buddy and a GTR with at least a exhaust mod of some type was just cruising slowly waiting for someone like us to come along..

So the GTR got the jump, we redlined 2nd, and my ass weights 300! Dam if we didn't start pulling on him and just about to over take him when we ran outta room!

He's got a 1Le ss, CAI, Phat Headers, and the NF cam! I have no doubt that on a 30 mph roll or more it's every bit as fast.. off the line the gear box and allwheel drive no way unless you had a few miles or so to make it up, lol.

I just want to know if there is a blower cam available with a little smoother idle for me!

Yes, the total runner length always includes the head. That would be from the back of the intake valve to the runner exit into the plenum. This measurement would be along the centerline of the runner. Not sure on the dip at 3000 rpm as that would be to low for the power dip change from the 4th to the 3rd harmonic. There is a 5th harmonic wave but it is weaker yet. The 2nd being the strongest.

Another thing to consider is the exhaust. There are waves pulses in the exhaust. Some people use those to cover up the change over for ones in the intake. In other words to make them overlap so there are no dips in power or make them minor dips.

If memory serves correct the LS3 runner length CL is about 10.25 inches which is about 2 inches shorter than the FAST. This is just intake manifold runner length. Adding the head runner length will only add to the 10 or so inches it already is. Take a string and run it along the roof of the port and measure the length of the string, do the same with the floor and average the two. There is your runner length.

Looks nice, but I have a question and don't take it the wrong way. Do you guys ever track test these cams? I see the make good numbers on paper just wondering if you are going to test them I'm use to people track test cams before they are available for the public.

This happens sometimes when I hit the button to stop the run right before I let off the gas. The Dyno graph was over and I was not trying to run it any farther than 7k. Just something built into the software that we see every now and again. This is why I stopped the number chart at 6850.

No offense and I don't want you take this the wrong way. You have already been caught tinkering in our thread with another Screen name that is now banned. So when I do see a question like this and a statement about cams that are track tested before publicly available I do take it the wrong way especially when its posted by you. I have been around this for many years and I have seen very popular cams that came out and not be track tested. We only have so many people and so many cars. We rely on our customers to do some testing. Even then I'm sure it won't be up to your standards from what I have seen in previous post. Our customers and us go to track in street trim and run them how 95% run them, not with 400lbs dropped out with a huge stall and gears.

I can tell you this....This NF VVT Cam is very stout and we are happy with how it turned out

I love it and I really don't care what anyone says about tracking my car. That was not the purpose of installing these parts, I just posted so others could see the results Lethal Racing is getting and if anyone else may be interested in getting this cam. Thanks Shawn and Nick!
