Agreed on the '10/'11 SS. You can get a 2010 or 2011 SS with about 10k miles for roughly $26k, give or take. I'd just do that.

Personally i would rather have a 12-13 5th gen SS then a v6 model with a third gen Z/28. I have had a third gen camaro the 5th gens are much more enjoyable to own might as well get the V8 model and be done with it. I mean no disrespect to the V6 owners but the sound of a V8 under the hood of your Camaro=priceless. Enjoy the upgrade its massive.

I still don't understand why he has to sell a car that's just sitting around to by a SS...
If its to have the money to put down on a SS, just wait and save a little more cash and keep both. |

The first and ONLY thing you need to be concerned with is your budget. That's it. V6-V8 pressure, whatever. You're the one that has to pay for it, maintain it, and watch the ticker at the pump. If your budget is so tight that it will demand you choosing one or keeping both, that sounds like it's pretty tight to me.
If you truly don't want to let go of your Z (Personally I wouldn't, and didn't), stick with the 6 and take the lower fuel / maint costs and enjoy both cars. If you want to upgrade and say goodbye to the classic, go with the SS. But before anything else at all, do some hard looking at your budget.

Wait another year. Some Camaro SS on here are going for around 26k. Keep looking and I bet you can find one for 23k if miles on a car doesn't scare you.

We just sold a 2010 2SS that was MINT. It had 55k on it and it sold for 23,500. Get the V8. Just keep looking for the right deal. I LOVE your Z28! I had a 90 IROC. Third gens still hold a special place in my heart.

Never ever give up a vehicle you feel like is your baby unless you have to for like a real baby or something. You'll always regret it. So get V6. If down the road you feel like you can move into an SS or even wait and trade for a 6th gen, then great, but you'll still have your '91.

Ok so I think I know what im gonna do. Gonna save over the next 8 to 10 months then order my SS. sell my Z28 for parts for the SS. I figured I could save about 1/4 the total price for a down payment on a new one in 2015. Thanks guys for the help!

You wpul dhave found out the ss would shame you into never wanting to drive the old z28 as it would feel slow........ very slow compared especially if you get the stick, and cruise autotrader and look at deals
